This information will contribute to your important broad- casts of severe weather and tornado information. WATCHES: Should be "crawled" on TV and Authority listed. Frequency depends on common sense as to weather conditions developing in area. (RADIO BROADCAST same as above) �I. WARNINGS: Immediate broadcast - quote warning verbatim. III. LOCAL ADVISORIES: Initiate immediate broadcast. Give au- thority and use judgement on frequency of broadcast. IV. PUBLIC REPORTS: All public reports of tornadoes or damag- ing winds should be reported first and immediately to the local Police Department and the Department of Public Safety. Public reports should be treated as unconfirmed: Use the statement - A public report has been received and authori- ties are investigating; persons in the immediate area should be on the alert for possible severe or damaging weather. W A T C H E S- W A R N I N G S- A D V I S O R I E S I. Authority for watches - NOAA Kansas City II. Authority for local warnings - NWS - Waco - Local Civil Defense Director III. LOCAL WEATHER ADVISORIES - These are issued only on authority of the Brazos County Civil Defense. They are intended to alert local area citizens of weather conditions approaching local area. IV. Authority to terminate watches, or warnings - Kansas City, NWS - Waco, Local Civil Defense Office. NOAA WEATHER RADIO WATCHES AND WARNINGS: The alert signal is used only for tornado, flash floods and severe thunderstorms. No signal is used on watches. Watches will come in on local weather wire. Warning alert signal covers Brazos, Robertson, Leon, Madison, Washington, Burleson, Milam, Grimes and Austin Counties. So be careful as to exact county and area warnings are intended to cover.
