347 Volunteer Hours directly associated with Project HOLD
3 Presidential Service Awards (1- silver, 5- bronze) were awarded to volunteers
representing over 1000 hours of volunteer service to the community
3,204 Pages of historical material scanned into Project HOLD
2 Exhibits focused on local history: 1) Brides of the Brazos and 2) Coach Jerome R.
Delley and the Lincoln High School Panthers which were viewed by 61,341
visitors to the Conference Center
1 Major State Award: Texas Historical Commission "Award for Excellence in
Preservation"
6 Issues of "Moment in History" newsletter were distributed with a circulation of
1500 each
4 Presentations were made to public school classes representing over 200 students.
3 Presentations were made to adult education classes representing 45 students.
2 Articles in "The Eagle" which has a weekday circulation of 22,604 in print
editions not including the online version.
1 Promotional mention in the College Station Utilities Utility bill insert with a
circulation of 32,000.
2 Project HOLD web links have been created on the Texas Historical Commission
and Cyndi's List (a major genealogical website) websites.
1 Transcription of a legal document (referencing Millican, Texas and the
Freedmen's Bureau) from 1868 that until now has never been transcribed.
12 Oral histories were recorded.
Project HOLD received numerous requests for assistance in documenting local
history:
1. Revised and updated the College Station history for CSPD to use in their
accreditation certification.
2. Researched the history of Wolf Pen Creek for the CS Department of Parks
and Recreation Wolf Pen Creek Trails.
3. Documented the location of the first Dairy Queen in Bryan for the
Department of Public Communications and Marketing.
4. Aided a TAMU graduate student in researching diversity in CS for a
lecture.
5. Aided Staff Planner in researching historic homes for a City Council tour.
