The Dia de los Muertos altar was wonderful, and my students were able to understand the Dia de los Muertos celebration very clearly. What a lovely ofrenda...just wonderful. Thank you for sharing your loved ones with us...You were knowledgeable and extremely pleasant, and I personally loved the “oregano” in your altar. We also enjoyed your "College-Station-TAMU" expertise!! We all enjoyed it so much! Thank you again. Carmen Villa, TAMU professor I am in one of the Spanish classes you talked to this morning. Thank you so much for showing the altar and teaching us about Dia de los Muertos. I learned a lot and found it very interesting. I grew up in Ft. Worth so I am not from College Station, but I love hearing about the history and great times people have had over the years here. Again, thank you so much for your time! I hope you have a wonderful week! Natalie Valenta, TAMU student, Political Science '11 Would you add me to your e-mail contact and distribution list please? Joe Muguerza, my good friend, has been generously forwarding some of your alerts to keep me informed of things he knows I have a decided passion for, e. g. the Hot Rocks Cookoff. I'm studying Anthropology/Archaeology at Blinn and this alert was and is of tremendous interest for me and my classmates with whom I've shared it. I hope to see you there :-) Steve Morgan RE: Hot Rocks Cook-Off Great flyer! Steve Beachy, Chair, BVVM Board of Directors Ah, lass, if I were just 30 years younger, I could jump in and compete with the rest.  I think I will just watch.  This is a great idea. Keep up the good work. Dorthea Robinson, College Station resident Congratulations to the Historic Preservation Committee and the Parks Department for a very successful Hot Rocks demonstration of Native American Food preparation.   It was fascinating!  Kudos for Dr. Thoms and his graduate students!  How appropriate that it took place where real Native American food preparation sites have been found.     I look forward to a Native American Pathway there at Veterans Park, and a permanent educational exhibiton on food preparation.   It would enrich the park even more.   Good job! Susan Irza, HPC, BCHC    You and Dorothy should be very proud of your display. It is certainly keeping the culture alive. Thank you, Regina (Opersteny, BCHC RE: Bryan Air Base, Exploring History Bill was stationed at Bryan AFB and Mary Jo gave birth to their first daughter at the Bryan AFB Hospital. We are anxious to learn more about the history of the base. Mary Jo and Bill Lay I cannot make the 11/18 luncheon, but I would greatly appreciate a copy of Kerry Chandler's remarks if possible.  My father was stationed at Bryan Field as part of the first class of Army Air Corps pilots to receive training in instrument flying from NAVAL AVIATORS sent over from Pensacola, Florida. Mike Newman, Newman Printing Thanks for all of the work you do all year long to support and promote the heritage of this great County. David Gerling, COCS RE: Veterans Day Event Great job on last night's event. Loved the program and noticed they were quite popular with everyone. People were actually reading it since you went to the trouble to put so much information in it. Get some rest...Becky Nugent, former PIO, COCS
