Approved Absence: N/A Unapproved Absence: N/A Staff Attendance: Anne Boykin, Heritage Programs Coordinator Visitors: N/A Agenda Item #1: Call to Order Meeting was called to order by Earl Apgar at 4:10 p.m. Agenda Item #2-3: Hear Visitors: N/A Agenda Item #4: Possible action and discussion on absence requests. N/A Agenda Item #5: Possible action and discussion on resignation of Lisa Kalmus. Agenda Item #6: Swearing in of new committee member, Patricia Cleere. N/A Patricia did not attend. Agenda Item #7: Possible action and discussion to approve meeting minutes of regular meeting of January 11, 2009. Approved. (AT/lv) Agenda Item #8: Possible action and discussion on 75th Anniversary planning. Earl discussed the progress made so far in the planning. The project will be an HPC driven project with council buy-in. He also discussed the book v. dissertation portion of the project. The budget will be spread out over four years. During the anniversary year, there will be small events tied into already existing events and one large culminating event on Oct. 19, 2013. The large event will be at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater and the new festival area. Agenda Item #9: Report from Heritage Programs Coordinator. See attached report. City of College Station Historic Preservation Committee 1/29/2010 Agenda Item #10: Committee Reports: • 75th Anniversary – Earl Apgar & Susan Irza See Item #8. • Native American Interpretive Path – Ernie Wright Ernie reported that he will be hosting a meeting with Steve Beachy this next month. • Historic Markers Program – Meredith Waller & Hillary Jessup The garden & historic home tour will be May 1st possibly 1-4pm. Three houses are proposed: Jessup, West and one other. Anne will design a brochure to feature the specific homes and gardens. Tickets will be $10 in advance and $12 at the door. • Oral History Project – Lou Hodges Lou will try to keep tabs on the one marker that is still out in the neighborhood. • PR/Communications/Sponsorships – James McGinnis James picked up a packet for the restaurant sponsorships and will follow up on those. • Texas Association of Museums (Liaison)/Local History Organizations – N/A • Landmark Commission (Liaison) – Hillary Jessup Hillary reported that there will be a meeting of the Oakwood Neighborhood A • Educational Initiatives/School Activities – Libby Vastano Spoke with Ann Ganter about CSISD history. Working on getting into the classrooms. • Volunteer Recruitment – Anne Triche-Steen Anne T. will be working on volunteer recruitment for Project HOLD. Earl will meet with Anne T. • Exploring History Lunch Lectures – Earl Apgar The series is off to a great start.
