I loved to pick cotton, we used to pick the bolls. My father taught me how to pick and then get to the gin. 822-2121 823-5469 Women would wear bonnets all the time. I made the bonnets with both short and long backs to keep the sun off of the shoulders. I XAS AVE. sold the bonnets for 25 cents (for short bonnets) = and 50 cents (for the longer, shoulder moss from Wendy's) coverings). The bonnets and our farm produce were sold at the Farmer's Market which was at the same spot where the Piggly Wiggly is, across the railroad. My Daddy only needed to buy sugar, cof- fee and flour, because we raised everything SAINT else. We'd eat biscquits for breakfast and cor- nbread for supper. We'd put cornbread into sweet milk and was it just good! Then we'd MICHAEL'S to school in a horse and buggy. Had 150 acres es of land then.
