August 05, 2024, Minutes Staff Present: Alyssa Shaw, Administrative Support Specialist; Kimberly McNally,
Historical Records Archivist; Michael Isermann, Assistant Director
Board Present: Carla Elliott, Louis Hodges, Tre Watson, Comer Patterson, Sherry
Frisk, Gerald Burgner, Lisa Mouton, Tom Turbiville Council Members Present:
1. Call meeting to order and consider absence requests.
Meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m., no absence requests received. 2. Hear visitors. Brad Lancaster, Leanna Vincent. There was a motion to help
the “Southside Stories” project that visitor Leanna Vincent presented at the meeting. A motion was made by Comer Patterson and seconded by Tom
Turbiville.
3. Agenda Items
3.1 Presentation, discussion, and the possible approval of minutes from the previous meeting.
Upon a motion made by Sherry Frisk and seconded by Lisa Mouton
the minutes were approved as written.
3.2 A. Cemetery
Per Sherry Frisk, continuing to gather GPS locations of tombstones.
B. Historical Marker Program/Project HOLD Report
The Committee discussed making a simpler request form to retract historical plaques on historical homes that have been demolished with
newly built homes in their place. The committee made a motion to approve
this simpler form and request a retraction and remove the plaque at 900 Hereford St. This motion was by Comer Patterson and seconded by Sherry
Frisk.
C. Exploring History Lunch Series
There was record attendance at July’s Exploring History Series– Texas
Bucket List.
D. College Station Pictorial Book Updates
Kimberly McNally passed out a packet of sample photographs that will be incorporated into the pictorial history book.
E. American Mile
No report.

F. Lone Star Legacy Park designation
Sherry and a couple of the members are gathering data for the Brison Park
application and waiting on the 2024 application form.
3.3 Report by the Liaison of Parks and Recreation on matters pertaining to the Historic Preservation Board.
No report.
3.4 Identification of upcoming local or area historical programs
None announced.
4. Discussion and possible action of future agenda items.
None.
5. Presentation of historical items
Louis Hodges passed around historical US notes.
6. Adjourn.
Upon a motion made by Tre Watson and a second by Lisa Mouton, the HPC voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting @ 5:18 p.m.
