HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-1376 - Ordinance - 07/22/1982ORDINANCE NO. 1376 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING AND RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJOINING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION AND INCORPORATING THE SAME AS A PART OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS. WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing at 2:00 p.m. on June 23, 1982, on the question of receiving certain territory into the city limits, and said hearing was held on the site of the territory under consideration; and WHEREAS, the City Council has held a second public hearing on the question of receiving the same territory into the city limits, and said hearing was at 7:00 p.m. on June 24, 1982 in the College Station City Hall; and WHEREAS, the City Council, having heard all parties pertaining thereto, has determined the following; and, WHEREAS, all provisions of Article 970a having been duly complied with, and all prerequisites for annexation under the charter and applicable law being satisfied, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: THAT, the following territory shall be incorporated within the city limits: All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Robert Stevenson League in Brazos County, Texas, being a part of the Area Progress Corporation 100.03 acre tract described by deed recorded in Volume 429, Page 763, Page 766 and Page 769 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning in the southwest line of Texas Avenue (State Highway No. 6) at the intersection of said southwest line of Texas Avenue and the present City Limits Line of the City of College Station, N 32 degrees 12' 28" W - 429.0 feet from the northwest line of Graham Road. Thence S 56 degrees 19' 13" W - 1845.51 feet through the said Area Progress Corporation tract to a point located ten (10') feet southeast of the existing City of Bryan power line easement; Thence S 89 degrees 25' 27" W - 536,,05..feet parallel,-to and ten (10') feet from the southeast line of said power line easement to the southwest line of the said Area�Progress Corporation tract; thence N 48 degrees 01'03" W - 984.11 feet along the southwest line of the said Area Progress Corporation tract to the most easterly corner i Df that 18.83 acre tract conveyed to the City of College Station by "deed recorded in Volume 448, Page 234-of Deed - 'Records of Brazos v3s0V Il'' Ordinance No. 1376 Page 2 County, Texas; Thence along the present City Limits Line as follows: N 17 degrees 18" 19" E - 292.23 feet; Along the arc of a curve to the right (R= 974.14') through a central angle of 12 degrees 25' 23 ", the chord of which bears N 72 degrees 34'42" E - 210.80 feet to the P.T. of said curve; N 78 degrees 47' 23" E - 603.26 feet to the P.C. of a curve to the left (R= 1060'); Along the arc of said 59'53" to the P.T. of N 57 degrees 47'32" E S 32 degrees 12'"28" E N 57 degrees 47'32" E containing 52.30 acre curve through a central angle of 20 degrees said curve; - 383.30 feet; - 500.00 feet; - 817.00 feet to the Point of Beginning and s of land more or less. Attached to and incorporated herein as a part of this Ordinance is a Service Plan, marked Exhibit "A ", providing for the extension of municipal services into the duly described territory, said plan having been presented at the two public hearings heretofore named and subsequently approved by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas. APPROVED: (Tary Hal hr, Mayor ATTEST: '1 Dian Jones, ty Secretary ORDINANCE NO. 1376 EXHIBIT "A" SERVICE PLAN PAGE 1 DATE: June 18, 1982 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: This correspondence will attempt to address the City's extension of Municipal Services within a 52.3 acre tract located on the west side of Texas Avenue adjacent to and south of the current City Limits. Request for annexation is in the name of Area Progress Corporation, College Station. The extension of Municipal Services will be in the following manner. Electric Service will be extended by the City of College Station upon request by builders in platted subdivision in the annexed area. Municipal Services such as Fire and Police Protection will be provided as development progresses into the subdivisions proposed on the tract. Garbage collection will be provided in the same manner. Water and sewer utilities will be provided as per the Subdivision Regulations of the City of College Station. These utilities will be extended by the developer during the construction phases of the subdivisions proposed in the 52 acre tract. FITCH, does propose that 52.30 acres of land that we have requested the City of College Station, Texas, to annex may be serviced by utilities as shown on Exhibit "B." attached hereto and made a part hereof. Exhibit "B" shows the proposed sewer lines in green and the proposed water lines in blue. The most Western corner of the tract has a deep existing sewer that we intend to extend along the Southwestern and the Southeastern boundries of this tract. All the other sewer lines will fall into these lines sewering the entire tract. There are three existing water lines near the property, a 12" water line at the most Western corner of the tract on Rock Praire Road, a 8" water line on Longmire Drive and a 12" water line on Texas Avenue. We propose to connect to these lines and extend the water lines to the balance of the tract. We estimate that the work will be complete by August of 1983.
