AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 1.02 ACRE TRACT LYING IN THE CRAWFORD BURNETT LEAGUE,
ABSTRACT NO. 7, COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND BEING MORE PARTICU-
LARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE FROM AGRICUL-
TURAL OPEN SPACE DISTRICT A -0 TO HEAVY INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT M -2.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7 :00 p.m.,
on Thursday June 25, 1981, on the question of rezoning certain areas within
the City limits;
AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following:
To rezone or change the classification of all that 1.02 acre tract of land lying
and being situated in the Crawford Burnet League, Abstract No. 7, College Station,
Brazos County, Texas, and being a portion of a 20.37 acre tract conveyed to Edsel
G. Jones et ux, Elsie J. Jones by partition deed recorded in Volume 302, Page 236
of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, said 18.51 acre tract also being a
portion of a 2.83 acre tract conveyed to Edsel G. Jones by the Missouri Pacific
Railroad Company by Quit Claim deed recorded in Volume 301, Page 70 of the Deed
Records of Brazos County, Texas and being more particularly described by metes and
bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at the west corner of a 3.60 acre tract conveyed to Wickes Corporation
by Edsel G. Jones et ux by deed recorded in Volume 318, Page 435 of the Deed Records
of Brazos County, Texas, said corner also lying in the southeast right -of -way of a
county road commonly known as Dowling Road;
THENCE S 43 0 10'48" E along the southwest line of the said Wickes Lumber Corporation
tract for a distance of 480.13 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING;
THENCE along the Wickes southeast line for the following calls:
N 76 ° 45'24" E for a distance of 268.75 feet to an iron rod for angle point;
S 82 ° 30'21" E for a distance of 57.70 feet to an iron rod for corner said
corner also lying on the southwest right -of -way line of the Old Highway 6 right -
of -way;
THENCE S 39 0 30'12" E along the southwest right -of -way line of Old Highway 6 for
a distance of 82.95 feet to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE S 46 0 45'30" W for a distance of 191.84 feet to a point on the present
City of College Station City limits line;
THENCE along the existing City of College Station City limits line for the
following calls:
N 31 ° 58'12" W for a distance of 62.61 feet;
N 84 ° 08'22" W for a distance of 265.14 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE N 46 0 45'30" E for a distance of 89.33 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING
and containing 1.02 acres of land, more or less.
