ORDINANCE NO. 1184
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 850 TO EXPAND THE
JURISDICTION OF THE LANDSCAPING AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR PARKING
AREAS IN COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL ZONING DISTRICTS:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas held a
public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23 1979,
on the question of amending the Zoning Ordinance No. 850;
AND WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to amend Ordinance No. 850;
The Zoning Ordinance No. 850 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Amend Section 7-D to read as follows:
All proposed parking areas associated with properties zoned A-P, Administrative/
Professional; C-N, Neighborhood Commercial; C-1, General Commercial; C-2,
Commercial/Industrial; M-1, Planned Industrial; or M-2, Heavy Industrial, shall
comply with the following standards:
Amend Section 7-D.7. to read as follows:
Any individual desiring to place structures and/or facilities in any of the
j Zoning Districts enumerated under Section 7-D shall present a parking area
�✓ safety and landscaping plan to the Director of Planning. If the plan includes
nineteen (19) parking spaces or less, the Director of Planning shall submit
said plan to the appropriate staff for review according to the standards
established in this ordinance and other ordinances of the City of College
Station. If the plan includes twenty (20) parking spaces or more the Director
of Planning shall notify the individual of the time, date, and place for the
plan review by the Project Review Committee (P.R.C.). The deliberations of
the P.R.C. shall be recorded and filed in the office of the Director of
Planning. The P.R.C. shall submit written recommendations to the Planning
and Zoning Commission prior to the next regularly scheduled meeting of the
Commission. A copy of the report shall be sent to the individual(s) seeking
approval of the plan. The P.R.C. may recommend the imposition of additional
conditions and may further modify the lateral terms of this ordinance where
such modifications are essential to preserve the intent of this ordinance and
where said modifications will insure the protection of the public health, safety,
and general welfare. The individual submitting a plan of nineteen (19) or less
spaces may appeal the staff review by following the same procedure as that for
plans with twenty (20) spaces or more.
