AN ORDINANCE REZONING A PART OF LOT 1, BLOCK 14; SOUTHWOOD VALLEY SECTION 6-C
FROM GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT C-1 TO APARTMENT BUILDING DISTRICT R-5.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M.
on Thursday, September 13, 1979 on the question of rezoning certain areas within
the City Limits;
AND WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following:
To rezone or change the classification of all that 2.47 acre tract of land lying
and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League in College Station, Brazos
County, Texas, being a part of that 649.77 acre tract conveyed to Southwood
Valley, Inc. by deed recorded in Volume 322, page 670 of the Deed Records of
Brazos County, Texas, and being a part of Lot 1, Block 14; Southwood Valley
Section 6-C and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING in the northeast line of Southwood Drive, S 47004'46" E -- 200 feet
from the southeast right-of-way line of the West Loop (F.M. 2818);
THENCE N 42055'14" E -- 343.64 feet through the said 649.77 acre tract parallel
to and 200 feet from the southeast line of West Loop;
THENCE S 53004-00" E -- 285.93 feet continuing through the said 649.77 acre tract
to the northwest line of Airline Drive;
THENCE S 36056'00" W -- 332.87 feet along the northwest line of Airline Drive to
the P.C. of a curve to the right (R=25');
THENCE along the arc of said curve to the right through a central angle of 900
to the P.T. of said curve in the northeast line of Southwood Drive;
THENCE N 53004'00" W -- 94.79 feet along the northeast line of Southwood Drive
to the P.C. of a curve to the right (R=926.10');
THENCE along the arc of said curve to the right through a central angle of
5 59'14" to the P.T. of said curve;
THENCE N 47004'46" W -- 105.96 feet continuing along the northeast line of
Southwood Drive to the POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 2.47 acres of land,
more or less, from General Commercial District C-1 to Apartment Building Dis-
trict R-5.
And, it is ordained that said change shall become effective immediately.
