HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-1164 - Ordinance - 06/28/1979ORDINANCE NO. 1164 AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 33.50 ACRE TRACT LYING IN THE MORGAN RECTOR LEAGUE IN COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS AND BEING A PART OF A 101.19 ACRE TRACT AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 336, PAGE 485 AND 489 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS FROM APARTMENT BUILDING DISTRICT R-5 TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT C-1 AND A 4.0 ACRE TRACT IN THE MORGAN RECTOR LEAGUE AND BEING A PART OF A 62.374 ACRE TRACT AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 336, PAGE 485 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS FROM SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT R-1 TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT C-1. BOTH TRACTS BEING MORE FULLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 28, 1979 on the question of rezoning certain areas within the City Limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classifiaction of a 33.50 acre tract lying in the Morgan Rector League in College Station, Brazos County, Texas and being a part of a 101.19 acre tract as recorded in Volume 336, pages 485 and 489 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas and a 4.0 acre tract of land lying in the Morgan Rector League and being a part of a 62.374 acre tract as record- ed in Volume 336, page 485 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas and being more fully described by metes and bounds as follows: 33.50 acre tract: BEGINNING at the intersection of the southeast right-of-way line of State Highway 30 and the southwest right-of-way line of State Highway 6, East By - Pass; THENCE S 30040'34" E for a distance of 247.60 feet to a concrete right-of- way marker; THENCE S 40021'06" E for a distance of 1,014.27 feet to a concrete right-of- way marker; THENCE S 30040'52" E for a distance of 215.00 fleet to a set iron rod lying in the southwest right-of-way line of State'Highway 6, East By -Pass; THENCE continuing S 30040'52" E for a distance of 607.75 feet to an iron rod; THENCE S 41049'52" W for a distance of 1,179.8 feet along a fence line to an iron rod for corner; THENCE S 51030'12" E for a distance of 86.65 feet to a corner; THENCE N 41059'30" E for a distance of 809.00 feet to a set iron rod for corner; THENCE N 55040'27" W for a distance of 109.61 feet to an iron rod; THENCE N 47052'14" W for a distance of 653.18 feet to an iron rod for corner; THENCE N 42024-43" E for a distance of 1,845.37 feet to an iron rod; THENCE along a chord bearing N 50051'56" E for a distance of 164.65 feet, having an arc of 165.25 feet, a tangent of 83.23 feet, a radius of 560 feet at an angle ORDINANCE NO. 1164 Page 2 of 16054'25"; THENCE N 59019'08" E for a distance of 177.63 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 33.50 acres of land, more or less, from Apartment Building District R-5 to General Commercial District C-1. 4.0 acre tract: COMMENCEINGat a fence corner marking the most southeasterly corner of the aforsaid 62.374 acre tract described in Volume 336, page 485 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas; THENCE N 41059'30" E along the most southeasterly line of the aforsaid 62. 3742 acre tract for a distance of 100.90 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING; THENCE continuing N 41059'30" E for a distance of 708.10 feet to an Oak tree for corner; THENCE N 35009'25" E for a distance of 84.90 feet to an Elm tree for corner; THENCE N 51030'12" W for a distance of 208.35 feet to a point for corner; THENCE S 41059'30" W for a distance of 809.00 feet to a point for corner; THENCE S 55040'27" E for a distance of 220.03 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 4.0 acres of land, more or less, from Single Family Residential District R-1 to General Commercial District C-1.
