AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 9.842 ACRE TRACT LOCATED IN THE RICHARD CARTER SURVEY IN
BRAZOS COUNTY, COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS,ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION
OF F.M. 60 AND THE EAST BYPASS AND BEING MORE FULLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS
ORDINANCE FROM SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT R-1 TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT C-1.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on
Thursday, May 24, 1979 on the question of rezoning certain areas within the City
Limits;
AND WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following:
To rezone or change the classification of all that 9.842 acre tract or parcel of
land lying and being situated in Brazos County, Texas, out of and being a part of
the Richard Carter Survey, Abstract No. 8, and the land herein described being a
part of that certain 171.038 acre tract described in a Deed from Minnie M. Dansby,
et al, to Bob Ross, Trustee, said Deed being recorded in Volume 259, page 241 of
the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more fully described as fol-
lows:
BEGINNING at a point in the intersection of the northwesterly line of the said
171.038 acre tract with the northwesterly line of F.M. Highway 60 that bears
N 41053'18" E, 26.93 feet from the most westerly corner thereof, said point being
an iron pipe for the most westerly corner of this tract;
THENCE N 41053118" E -
iron pipe in the west
of this tract;
1610.17 feet with said northwesterly line as fenced to an
line of Highway No. 6, East Bypass for the northerly corner
THENCE S 20059'48" E - 310.56 feet with the west line of said Highway 6, East By-
pass to a point thereon at the northwest corner of a certain 50,069:4 square foot
tract heretofore conveyed for the most easterly southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE S 51000-27" W - 228.05 feet with the north line of the abovementioned tract
to a point at the northwest corner thereof for an ell corner of this tract;
THENCE S 38050-18" E - 235.00 feet with the west line of the said 50,069.4 square
foot tract to a point at the southwest corner thereof, same being in the north-
westerly line of the said F.M. 60 for the most southerly corner of this tract;
THENCE with the northwesterly line of F.M. 60 as follows:
S 50050-07" W - 25.02 feet to a concrete highway monument;
S 55003-13" W - 484.71 feet to a concrete highway monument;
S 66010'16" W - 223.27 feet to a concrete highway monument;
S 69034'48" W - 267.46 feet to a concrete highway monument;
S 69040'08" W - 300.04 feet to a concrete highway monument;
S 74°12'15" W - 3.67 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 9.84.2 acres of
land, more or less, from Single Family Residential District R-1 to General Commercial
District C-1.
And, it is ordained that said change shall be effective immediately.
