ORDINANCE NO. 1136
AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 2.56 ACRE TRACT OF LAND IN THE CRAWFORD BURNETT
LEAGUE, ABSTRACT 7, COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS LOCATED AT THE
INTERSECTION OF HOLLEMAN AND WELLBORN ROAD (F.M. 2154) AND BEING MORE
FULLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE FROM
SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT R-1 TO APARTMENT BUILDING DISTRICT
R-5.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the Courtroom of the
College Station Police Station at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 9, 1978
on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits;
AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following:
To rezone or change the classification of all that 2.56 acre tract of land
lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League Abstract 7 in
College Station, Brazos County Texas and being more fully described as
follows:
1. Being a portion of that tract conveyed to Eddie Chew,Jr. and wife,
Betty Jean Chew by Eddie Chew, Sr., by Quit Claim deed recorded in
Volume 380, page 198 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas;
2. Being all that tract conveyed to Eddie Chew and wife, Settie Mae Chew
by R.L. Burley and wife, Ida B. Burley by deed recorded in Volume 149,
page 515 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas;
3. Being all that tract conveyed to Eddie Chew and wife, Settie Mae Chew
by Kate Kelly Johnson, a feme sole, by deed recorded in Volume 94,
page 564 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas;
Said 2.56 acre tract being described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at the west corner of the tract described in Item No. 2 as listed
heretofore, said corner also lying in the northeast right-of-way line of
F.M. 2154, also commonly know as Wellborn Road;
THENCE S 27048'26" E along the northeast right-of-way line of Wellborn Road
a distance of 409.29 feet to an iron rod for corner, said corner also being
the point of intersection of of the northwest right-of-way line of Wellborn
with the northwest right-of-way line of Hollman Drive;
THENCE N 44030'00" E along the northwest right-of-way line of Holleman
Drive a distance of 367.58 feet to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE N 45054'35" W -- 148.07 feet to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE S 44045'40" W -- 14.72 feet to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE N 28036'18" W -- 166.94 feet to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE S 61003'41" W -- 287.87 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing
wry 2.56 acres of land, more or less,from Single Family District R-1 to Apartment
Building District R-5.

And, it is ordained that said change shall be effective immediately.
