HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-1079 - Ordinance - 06/23/1977ORDINANCE NO. 1079 M AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJOINING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: An affidavit having been made by all the owners of the hereinafter described territory adjoining the city limits of the City of College Station, Texas, to the effect that there are no registered voters residing within the bound- aries of the hereinafter described territory and that the affiants are the sole owners of the hereinafter described territory, and the aforsaid aff- idavit having been filed with the City Secretary who has certified the same to the City Council, now, therefore, the City Council by virtue of the authority conferred by Article II, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of College Station, Texas, approved on April 4, 1972, by this ordinance does hereby receive such ter- ritory within the incorporated limits of the City of College Station, Texas, such territory being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: All of that 8.12 acre tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Morgan Rector League, Abstract 46, Brazos County, Texas and being a portion of an 80 acre tract described in the following deeds: (1) C. Edgar Jones to Ernest Jones et ux, dated February 16, 1932 and recorded in Volume 81, page 420 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, (2) C.S. Jones to Sandy Henderson, dated October 28, 1911 and being recorded in Volume 37, page 250 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at an iron rod set at the south corner of a 142.11 acre tract con- veyed to Calloway Rhodes, Inc.and Edwin W. Schultz by deed recorded in Vol- ume 323, page 258 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, said corner also lying in the most easterly right-of-way line of State Highway No. 6 - East Bypass and also lying in the northwest line of the aforementioned 80 acre tract; THENCE N 42009'26" E along the common line between the Calloway Rhodes - Schultz 142.11 acre tract and the aforesaid 80 acre tract for a distance of 1,467.51 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING; THENCE continuing N 42009'26" E for a distance 436.39 feet to an iron rod for corner, said corner also being the north corner of the aforesaid 80 acre tract; THENCE S 4803937" E for a distance of 811.77 feet to an iron rod for corner said corner also being the east cornerof the aforesaid 80 acre tract; THENCE S 42028'47" W for a distance of 436.43 feet to an iron rod for corner; THENCE N 48039'37" W for a distance of 809.32 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 8.12 acres of land, more or less.
