HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-1077 - Ordinance - 06/09/1977,I" ORDINANCE NO. 1077 AN ORDIANCE REZONING A 15.0 ACRE TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE MORGAN RECTOR LEAGUE, COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE FROM SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT R-1 TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT C-1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 9, 1977 on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of all that certain 15.0 acre tract of land lying and being situated in the Morgan Rector League in Brazos County, College Station, Texas, and being a part of the tract of land conveyed to Brazos Commonwealth No. 1, Limited, by Leon W. Stasney, and wife, Grace Brown Stasney, in deed dated July 16, 1971, and recorded in Volume 206, Page 133 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: COMMENCING at the intersection of the southeast right-of-way line of State Hingway No. 30 and the Southwest right-of-way line of State Highway No. 6, East Bypass; THENCE S 45044'00" W -- 1678.16 feet along the southeasterly right-of-way line of State Highway No. 30 to the POINT OF BEGINNING and the northeast corner of the herein described tract; THENCE S 44016'00" E -- 755.23 feet to a point for the southeast corner of the herein described tract; THENCE S 45005'04" W -- 866.48 feet to a point for the southwest corner of the herein described tract; THENCE N 44032'13" W -- 749.93 feet to a point in the southeasterly righ-of-way line of State Highway No. 30 for the northwest corner of the herein described tract; THENCE N 45044'00" E along the southeasterly right-of-way line of State Highway No. 30 -- 870.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 15.0 acres of land, more or less. And being the same property conveyed by John A. Bond, Trustee, to Boswell Porter by deed dated April 30, 1974, recorded in Volume 327, Page 175 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas from Single Family Residential District R-1 to General Commercial District C-1. And it is ordained that said change shall be effective immediately. PASSED AND APPROVED this 9th day of June, 1977. #PPROVE ATTEST Mayor o City Secretary
