AN ORDINANCE REZONING THE NORTH ONE-HALF OF LOTS 4 AND 5, BLOCK 1, MEADOWLAND
ADDITION IN THE J.E. SCOTT LEAGUE MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS
ORDINANCE FROM DUPLEX RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT R-2 TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT C-1.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on
Thursday, January 8, 1976 on the question of rezoning certain acreas within the
city limits;
AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following:
To rezone or change the classification of the north one-half of Lots 4 and 5, Block
1, Meadowland Addition in the J.E. Scott League, Brazos County, Texas, and being
more particularly described as follows:
All that certain lot or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Meadowland
Addition to the City of College Station, in Brazos County, Texas, and being a portion
of the original Lots Five (5) and Four (4) of said Addition, and described by metes
and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the NW line of Meadowland Street, said point being at the
intersection of the original Lot Five (5) of said Meadowland Addition and Lot Six
(6);
THENCE South 45 West with the boundary line between Lot Six (6) and Lots Four (4) and
Five (5), 166 feet and corner on the line between said Addition and the land of the
A&M College;
THENCE South 45 East with the boundary line between Lots Four (4) and the said A&M
College land, 50 feet and corner;
THENCE North 45 East, and parallel with the first line, 166 feet and corner on said
line of Meadowland Street;
THENCE North 45 West 50 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING:
BEING the revised Lot Five (5) as shown by Plat attached to a deed dated June 19,
1948, recorded in Volume 135, page 276, Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, same
being a deed of correction, and reference is here made to same in aid of description,
and
BEING the same land conveyed to W. F. Adams, et ux, by Wilbur R. King, Jr., et ux,
by Deed dated October 2, 1952, recorded in Volume 156, page 208, Deed Records, of
Brazos County, Texas, and being the same land conveyed by W. F. Adams, et ux, to
Mrs. Maye Jackson by Deed dated September 15, 1955, recorded in Volume 170, page
229, Deed Records, Brazos County, Texas, to which reference is here made for all
purposes.
And, it is ordained that said change be effective immediately.
