HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-0884 - Ordinance - 06/25/1973ORDINANCE NO. 884 AN ORDINANCE FIXING, DETERMINING, AND REGULATING THE MAXIMUM RATES FOR LOCAL TELEPHONE SERVICE THAT THE GENERAL TELEPHONE COMPANY OF THE SOUTHWEST, A CORPORATION, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, MAY CHARGE FOR ITS SERVICES WITHIN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: SECTION I. That the following exchange rates are fixed and determined by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, to be the maximum exchange rates for local telephone service in the City of College Station, Texas, that the General Telephone Company of the Southwest, a corporation, its successors and assigns, may charge for its services in said City of College Station, Texas. (a) Class of Service Business - One Party Business - Two Party Business - Extension Residence - One Party Residence - Two Party Residence - Four Party Residence - Extension Semi -Public Flat Monthlv Rate $13. 55 11.00 2.00 6.50 5.40 4.30 1.25 13.55 (b) The installation and connection fees that may be charged by the telephone company are hereby established as: $17.50 for a residence installation and $25.00 for a business installation. (c) That rotary switch charges are hereby permitted for the City of College Station, Texas exchange, and these charges are established as set out in the schedule is attached to this ordinance and made a part hereof. (d) The rates that may be charged for multi -line service are established as set out in the Section 38 of the Texas General Exchange Tariff (which is the tariff catalogue of the General Telephone Company of the Southwest) in use and effect on the 1st day of May, 1973. (e) No other rates, charges, or fees shall be permitted in the City of College Station, Texas exchange, without the express written consent of the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas. SECTION II. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, fixing and determining the maximum telephone rates, charges, and fees that may be charged in said City of College Station, Texas, are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. That the schedule of maximum rates outlined in Section I, paragraphs (a), (b), and (c) hereof may be made effective by said telephone company on July 1, 1973, and the maximum rates outlined in Section I, paragraph (d) hereof may be made effective by said telephone company on November 1, 1973.
