HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-0866 - Ordinance - 03/26/1973ORDINANCE NO. 866 AN ORDINANCE REZONING A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IMMEDIATELY SOUTH OF THE INTERSECTION OF OLD COLLEGE ROAD AND LUTHER STREET, EXTENDING FROM SAID INTERSECTION THREE HUNDRED (300) FEET BACK FROM OLD COLLEGE ROAD AND SOUTH TO THE HENRY MOORE PROPERTY LINE FROM COMMERCIAL - INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT, DISTRICT C-2, TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT, DISTRICT C-1, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7.00 P.M. on Mondary, March 26, 1973, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits; AND WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of the following described property: The following described portion of property of the Hrdlicka Estate, being situated in the Crawford Burnett League in College Station, Brazos County, Texas, being a part of that 168 acre tract conveyed to Edward V. Hrdlicka by deed recorded in Volume 36, Page 568 of the Deed of Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: That south portion of that area of land whose boundaries begin at the intersection of Luther Street and Old Highway 6 along Luther Street a distance of three hundred (300) feet thence S. E. along a line parallel with Old Highway 6 to the N. W. side of the Henry Moore property line extended, thence along the N. W. side of the Henry Moore property to Old Highway 6, thence along Old Highway 6 to intersection of Luther Street, of the Hardlicka Addition, zoned "Business 2" by Ordinance No. 183 passed and approved on June 15, 1953, by the City of College Station, Texas, as changed in part to R-3 by a drafting error and reflected in the official zoning map of the City of College Station. This request is made in order to change a drafting error of long standing, and to rezone the tract from Commercial -Industrial District, District C-2, to General Commercial District, District C-1, and it is ordained that said change be effective immediately.
