HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-0841 - Ordinance - 09/25/1972ORDINANCE NO. 841 f AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF REZONING A 1.715 ACRE TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE RICHARD CARTER LEAGUE, COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS FROM DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWELLING HOUSE DISTRICT TO DISTRICT NO. 4 -A, NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that all land described herein be rezoned from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4 -A, Neighborhood Business District. It is hereby ordered that a public hearing shall be held at the City Hall in College Station at 7 :00 P.M. on Monday, October 23, 1972, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits as follows: A 1.715 acre tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Richard Carter League, College Station, Brazos County, Texas, and being part of the 9.155 acre tract No. 2 shown on the plat of Carter's Grove, 2nd Installment recorded in Volume 288, Page 161 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, said 9. 155 acre tract being the same tract conveyed to Raymond Reiser by the deed recorded in Volume 266, Page 247 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, said 1.715 acre tract being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at an iron rod set for corner, said iron rod being located at the common corner of the above mentioned 9.155 acre tract and a 171.028 acre tract conveyed to Bert Wheeler, Trustee, by the deed recorded in Volume 271, Page 128 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, said iron rod also being located in the south right -of -way line of Farm -to- Market Road No. 60 (University Drive); Thence S 48 10' 31" E along the common line of the above mentioned 9. 155 acre tract and the above mentioned 171. 028 acre tract for a distance of 155. 0 feet to an iron rod set for corner; Thence S 63 00' 27" W for a distance of 298.49 feet to an iron rod set for angle point; Thence S 70 55' 52" W for a distance of 266.69 feet to an iron rod set for corner, said iron rod being located in the common line of the beforementioned 9.155 acre tract No. 2 and the 12.264 acre tract No. 1 shown on the beforementioned plat of Carter's Grove, 2nd Installment; 233 Ordinance No. 841 Page 2 Thence N 28 55' 30" W along the common line of this tract and the abovementioned Tract No. 1 for a distance of 75. 00 feet to an iron bar for corner, said iron bar being the common corner of the abovementioned Tract No. 2 and Tract No. 1 and a 0.155 acre tract now or formerly owned by Jacob Luza, said 0.155 acre tract being part of the 58.32 acre tract conveyed to Jacob Luza by deed recorded in Volume 85, Page 426 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas; Thence N 42 39' 34" E along the common line of the abovementioned Tract No. 2 and the 0.155 acre tract for a distance of 158.00 feet to an iron rod found for corner, said iron rod being located in the beforementioned south right -of -way line of Farm -to- Market Road No. 60 (University Drive); Thence along the abovementioned south right -of -way line for the following calls: N 70 55' 52" E for a distance of 119.06 feet to a concrete right -of -way marker for angle point; N 63 00' 27" E for a distance of 201. 98 feet to a concrete right -of -way marker for angle point; N 70 55' 52" E fora distance of 41.51 feet to the PLACE of BEGINNING and containing 1.715 acres of land more or less from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4 -A, Neighborhood Business District. Notice of said hearing shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of College Station at least three times, the first publication of which shall not be less than 15 days prior to the date fixed for the hearing.
