HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-0831 - Ordinance - 08/28/1972ORDINANCE NO. 831 r AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF REZONING A 4.74 ACRE TRACT OF LAND LOCATED ON THE NORTHEAST SIDE OF TEXAS AVENUE AND 200 FEET SOUTHEAST OF STERLING STREET FROM DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWEL- LING HOUSE DISTRICT TO DISTRICT NO. 4, FIRST BUSINESS DISTRICT AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that all land de- scribed herein be rezoned from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4, First Business District. It is hereby ordered that a public hearing shall be held at the City Hall in College Station at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, September 25, 1972, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits as follows: Beginning at a fence corner in the northeast line of State Highway No. 6 in the Morgan Rector League in College Station, Brazos County, Texas, in the line between the Richards Subdivision as described by plat of record in Volume 137, Page 25 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and that tract conveyed to L. W. Stasney by deed recorded in Volume 196, Page 431 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas. Thence N 41 53' 12" E 600. 0 feet along the line between the said Stasney tract and the Richards Subdivision; Thence S 49 31' 21" E 343. 55 feet across the said Stasney tract; Thence S 41 48' 30" W 600.0 feet along the line between the said Stasney tract and the Kirkpatrick tract to the northeast line of State Highway No. 6; _ Thence N 49 31' 21" W 344. 1 feet along the northeast line of State Highway No. 6 to the point of beginning and containing 4.74 acres of land more or less from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4, First Business District. Notice of said hearing shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of College Station at least three times, the first publication of which shall not be less than 15 days prior to the date fixed for the hearing.
