AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SPEED ZONES WHICH SPECIFICALLY DESIGNATES
�w ADDITIONAL AREAS IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION IN WHICH RATES OF
SPEED OF THIRTY (30) MILES PER HOUR OR MORE ARE AUTHORIZED; RESCINDING
ALL PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING THAT
ATTENDANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
SECTION I. That any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances relating to speed
zones on FM 60, from the intersection of State Highway 6 East to State Highway 6'Alternate
in the City of (bbllege Station are hereby rescinded, and the following are additional
specifically designated areas in which a rate of speed of thirty (30) miles per hour
or more is authorized.
(a) FM 60, for traffic moving in a westerly direction, from the centerline of
the east frontage road of alternate route of State Highway 6, for the first
0.555 mile the speed shall be fifty -five (55) miles per hour to the north-
east city limits (Station 29 +34). Beginning at the northeast city limits
(Station 44 +03.8) for the next 0.351 mile the speed limit shall be fifty -
five (55) miles per hour. For the next 0.500 mile the speed limit shall
be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next 0.200 mile the speed limit
shall be forty (40) miles per hour to the intersection of State Highway 6
and FM 60.
(b) For traffic moving in an easterly direction, for the first 0.300 mile from
the intersection of State Highway 6 and FM 60, the speed limit shall be
forty -five (45) miles per hour. For the next 0.400 mile the speed limit
shall be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next 0.351 mile the speed limit
shall be fifty -five (55) miles per hour to the northeast city limits (Station
44 +03.8). Beginning at the northeast city limits (Station 29 +34) for the
next 0.555 mile the speed limit shall be fifty -five (55) miles per hour to
the centerline of the east frontage road of alternate route State Highway 6.
SECTION II. WHEREAS, the preservation of the general welfare of the public necessitates
immediate action, this Ordinance shall be effective from and after the date of its passage
as provided by the Charter of the City of College Station.
