AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO TEMPORARY SPEED ZONES WHICH SPECIFICALLY
DESIGNATES AREAS IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION IN WHICH RATES OF SPEED
OF THIRTY (30) MILES PER HOUR OR MORE ARE AUTHORIZED; TEMPORARILY RE-
VISING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING THAT
ATTENDANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
SECTION I. That any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances relating to speed zones
on Highway 6 in the City of College Station are hereby temporarily revised, and the fol-
lowing are specifically designated in which a rate of speed of thirty (30) miles per hour
or more is authorized. Upon completion of State Highway Project M 5267 (1) and acceptance
by the State, the speed zone shall revert to those as ordained by City Ordinance indicated.
State Highway 6 Business Route, for traffic moving in both directions, from
0.225 mile southeasterly of the intersection of Jersey Street (FM Road 2347),
for 1. 574 miles southeasterly the speed limit shall be forty -five (45) miles
per hour in construction areas when said speed is so indicated.
SECTION II. WHEREAS, the preservation of the general welfare of the public necessitated
immediate action, this Ordinance shall be effective from the date of its passage until
completion of Texas Highway Department Project M 5267 (1), State Highway 6 Business
Route, Brazos County, as provided by the City Charter of the City of College Station.
