HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-0800 - Ordinance - 01/24/1972ORDINANCE NO. 800 AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 13.2 ACRE TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE CRAWFORD BURNETT LEAGUE FROM DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWELLING HOUSE DISTRICT TO DISTRICT NO. 4, FIRST BUSINESS DISTRICT, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P. M. on January 24, 1972, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits, AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of all that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League, Brazos County, Texas, and being a part of the two tracts of land conveyed to Area Progress Corporation by Roy W. Kelly and C. M. R. Deacon, respectively, and being all that tract of land (inside the city limits of College Station, Texas, as annexed February 22, 1971 by Ordinance No. 723, lying along and adjoining the State Highway 6 Southwest R. O. W. line and between the two tracts of land heretofore zoned into District No. 4, by Ordinance No. 735 and Ordinance No. 750, and further including the strip of land along and adjoining the southwest sides of the said two District No. 4 tracts to a depth of 500 feet measured from State Highway 6 R. O. W. ; the southwest line of the tract herein described being coincident with the City Limits line as now established; the zoning tract herein being further described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at a point in the Southwest R. O. W. line of State Highway 6, said point being the most easterly corner of the tract heretofore zoned as District No. 4 by Ordinance No. 750. Thence S 37 24' 42" E. 397.45 feet along the State Highway 6 R. O. W. to an iron rod; Thence S 40 51' 42" E. 432 feet more or less along the State Highway 6 R. O. W. to a point at the most northerly corner of the 12.5 acre tract zoned District No. 4 by Ordinance No. 735; Thence along the boundary of said District No. 4 tract as follows: S 52 47' W. 400 feet to a point S 37 18' E. 700 feet to a point N 52 47' E. 85.8 feet to a point Thence S 37 13' E. 70 feet to a corner in the present city limit line; Thence following the city limit line S 52 47' W. 185.8 feet to a corner in the present city limit line; Thence in a northwesterly direction parallel to and 500 feet west of the revised State Highway 6 westerly R. O. W. line to a point on said city limits line being S 52 35' 18" W. of the west corner of the tract zoned District No. 4 by Ordinance No. 750; Thence N 52 35' 18" E. 31.5 feet to said west corner of District No. 4 tract; 02141 Ordinance No. 800 Page 2 Thence along the boundary of said District No. 4 tract; S 37 42" E. a distance of 980.0 feet to a corner; Thence N 52 35' 18" E. a distance of 400 feet to the place of beginning and containing 13.2 acres more or less, from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4, First Business District, and it is ordained that said change be effective immediately.
