HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-0799 - Ordinance - 12/17/1971ORDINANCE NO. 799 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF RE- ZONING A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE CRAWFORD BURNETT LEAGUE, r FROM DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWELLING HOUSE DISTRICT TO DISTRICT NO. 4, FIRST BUSINESS DISTRICT, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that all land described herein be rezoned from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4, First Business District; It is hereby ordered that a public hearing shall be held at the City Hall in College Station, Texas, at 7:00 P. M. on Monday, January 24, 1972, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits as follows: All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League, Brazos County, Texas, and being a part of the two tracts of land con- veyed to Area Progress Corporation by Roy W. Kelly and C. M. R. Deacon, respectively, and being all that tract of land (inside the city limits of Co ge Station, Texas, as annexed February 22, 1971 by Ordinance No. 723), lying along and adjoining the State Highway 6 Southwest R. O. W. line and between the two tracts of land heretofore zoned into District No. 4, by Ordinance No. 735 and Ordinance No. 750, and further in- cluding the strip of land along and adjoining the southwest sides of the said two District No. 4 tracts to a depth of 500 feet measured from State Highway 6 R. O. W. ; the southwest line of the tract herein described being coincident with the City Limits line as now established; the zoning tract herein being further described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at a point in the Southwest R. O. W. line of State Highway 6, said point being the most easterly corner of the tract heretofore zoned as District No. 4 by Ordinance No. 750. Thence S 370 24' 42" E. 397.45 feet along the State Highway 6 R.O. W. to an iron rod; Thence S 400 51' 42" E. 432 feet more or less along the State Highway 6 R. O. W. to a point at the most northerly corner of the 12.5 acre tract zoned District No. 4 by Ordinance No. 735; Thence along the boundary of said District No. 4 tract as follows: S 520471 W. 400 feet to a point S 370 18' E. 700 feet to a point N 520 47' E . 85. 8 feet to a point Thence S 370 13' E. 70 feet to a corner in the present city limit line; Thence following the city limit line S 520 47' W. 185. 8 feet to a corner in the present city limit line; Thence in a northwesterly direction parallel to and 500 feet west of the revised State Highway 6 westerly R. O. W. line to a point on said city limits line being S 520 35' 18" W. of the west corner of the tract zoned District No. 4 by Ordinance No. 750; Ordinance No. 799 Page 2 M Thence N 520 35' 18" E. 31.5 feet to said west corner of District No. 4 tr act; Thence along the boundary of said District No. 4 tract: S 370 24' 42" E . a distance of 980.0 feet to a corner; Thence N 520 35' 18" E . a distance of 400 feet to the place of beginning and containing 13.2 acres more or less, from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4, First Business District. Notice of said hearing shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of College Station at least three times, the first publication of which shall not be less than 15 days prior to the date fixed for the hearing.
