Actually, I was here for the big march on the President's home in the spring of 1974.
That was the night of the great streak in on campus.
Naked Aggies dashing every which of way in front of the Academic Building.
At least one on a motorcycle (he did wear ahelmet -safety counts).
And at least 3 spread eagle on one of the ledges (3rd or 4th floor) of the Academic Building.
Most were men, but there were a few women, too.
The campus police had announced that they would not arrest anyone -just take photos and write
down names.
Stupidly, they turned off all the lights in the area, which only encouraged folks to streak.
One of the streakers ran into a policeman, knocking both of them down.
They really didn't have much choice but to arrest him.
The crowd marched on President "Smilin' Jack" Williams' house - it was late at that point (maybe 10 or
11) - he finally came to the door, looked out, and said, "Go home! You're all acting like animals!"
And they did.
I watched the last part from my dorm room window (Utay Hall, dorm 12) -Kent State was still enough
of a memory that many of us wanted no part in any demonstration.
My room mate and I did have to go help a guy from down the hall look for his underwear - he had lost
it somehow - we didn't ask for details -and was terrified that they would use the laundry mark to
track him down.
We never found it, but no one ever came for him, either.
