Agenda Item #1: Call to Order
Meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m.
Agenda Item #2-3: Hear Visitors
Molly Hitchcock, Sr. Planning Administrator, Planning & Development Services,
discussed the work being done by Quimby-McCoy on the historic preservation enabling
ordnance. A public input meeting will be held Wednesday, February 13, at 11:30am in the
Council Chambers. Another will be on the same day at 5:30pm. A round table discussion
will be held possibly Feb. 20 or 21 with the consultants and the HPC as well as the Texas
Historic Commission. The surveys will be completed in March with the final summation
expected some time this summer.

Motion was made, seconded to approve the minutes. (MW/CR)
Agenda Item #6: Committee Reports
Parks Project Committee (Lou and Jane)
Lou reported that he is working on setting up a meeting to discuss plans for the Parks
Project. He will also invite David Woodcock and Alston Thoms to participate in the
committee.
Exploring History Lunch Lectures (Ernie, Jane and Hillary)
Ernie will introduce the speaker at the January lecture. Anne B. composed a letter to
request restaurants or organizations to sponsor the lectures. Various suggestions were
made to fill the vacancies we have on future Exploring History Lunch Lectures: Paul
Bonnarigo (Wine making in Brazos Valley), Businesses, Paul Boatwright (Businesses
Then and Now), Blinn College

Historic Building Marker #8, Washington Chapel Baptist Church, 1801 Texas Avenue
South – Approved (LH/JH); To be presented at February 28 City Council Meeting
Historic Home Marker #79, Loupot/Isenhart Home,1201 Walton Drive – Approved
(LH/JH); To be presented at February 14 City Council Meeting
Oral History Project (Lou and Anne Steen)
Lou suggested several candidates for oral history interviews: Sarah Holmgreen, Lawrence
Holocek
Project HOLD (Lou, Colleen and Anne Steen)

Education Committee (Jane, Ernie, Marguerite, and Lou)
Jane Hughey suggested the possibility of a one day summer camp for children.
Agenda Item # 7: City’s 70th Birthday
Discussions continued from last month about approaching Café Eccel to host a birthday
party for the City on Oct. 19. Anne B. Suggested an exhibit style story board that could be
used throughout the year.
