Dr. William and Yudith Bassichis of College Station are pleased to
announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their
daughter, Karen Orli Bassichis, to Dr. Kenneth Edward Saland, son of
Drs. Joel and Linda Saland of Albuquerque, N.M. Grandparents of the
bride-elect are the late Max and Shirley Bassichis of Cleveland, Ohio,
and David and Rena Zwiefach of Tel Aviv, Israel. Grandparents of the
prospective groom are Bertha and the late Emanuel Saland of New
York and the late Charles and Esther Dewirtz of New York.
The bride-elect is graduate of Harvard University and will graduate
in June from UT Southwestern Medical School.
The prospective groom is a graduate of the University of New
Mexico, the University of New Mexico Medical School and is
presently a Fellow in Cardiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
The wedding will be held on March 6, 1999 at Park Avenue
Synagogue in New York.

and the late Norman R. Schlatre, Jr..
The groom is the son of Martha B. Faulkner, of Bryan a

University and is a candidate for a Master of Public Heal.

Miss Laura Elizabeth Denson and Mr. Thomas Lee Patterson were
united in marriage on Saturday, December 4, 1999 at seven o'clock in
the evening at Peace Lutheran Church in College Station. The candle-
light double ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Craig
Borchardt, with music by soloist Kearby Etheridge; trumpeter John G.
Lemons; organisYMari Ward; and the Brazos Valley String Quartet.
A reception followed at Pebble Creek Country Club with music pro-
vided by Party Block. On the eve of the wedding a rehearsal dinner was
hosted by the groom's parents at the Faculty Club.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Bartram Denson, Jr.
of College Station and the granddaughter of Ms. Mary Elizabeth
Denson and the late John Bartram Denson of Arlington, Texas and the
late Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Heagberg of Chicago, Ill. The groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lee Patterson of Bowie, Texas and the grandson of
Ms. Christine Brock and the late Bob Patterson of Bowie, Texas and
Ms. Lois Noble and the late Clarence Noble of Bowie, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the
bride wore a gown designed by Vera Wang of New York. The sleeveless
and contoured shaped bodice was of Dutchess silk satin. The. tulle skirt
was ball gown shaped, and the train cascaded out from the waist
accented with a lovely lily of the valley bouquet at the waist. To com-
pliment her gown the bride wore amulti-lengthed veil, accented with
lily of the valley at the headpiece, that extended past the dress train to
cathedral length.
Mrs. Kristi Renae Penick of College Station served as matron of
honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Brooke Elizabeth Blanton, cousin of the
bride, of College Station; Mrs. Tanya Boyette of Kellar, Texas; Mrs.
Dawn Fry of Okotoks, Canada; Miss Kelli Beth Hannan of College
Station; and Miss Dante Zarate of Arlington, Texas. Flower girl was
Miss Brenna Mackenzie Denson, godchild and cousin of the bride of
Arlington, Texas. Serving in the bride's houseparty were Miss Stacey
Behnke of Brenham, Texas; Mrs. Jennifer Thomas of Bedford, Texas;
and Ms. Deborah Zarate of Arlington, Texas.
Serving as the groom's best man was Mr. Shawn Mann of College
Station. Groomsmen were Mr. Ryan Macomb of Minneapolis, Minn;
Mr. Robert Jeffrey Patterson, brother of the groom of Imperial Beach,
Calif; Mr. Rick Penick of College Station; Mr. Kevin Sutherland of
Bridgeport, Texas; and Mr. Derek Worlow of College Station. Ushers
included Mr. Dave Pustejovsky and Mr. Steve Sanders both of College
Station.
Laura is a 1994 graduate of A&M Consolidated High School and
graduated from Texas A&M University in 1999 where she earned a
Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness. She is employed as an
economist at AgriLogic, Inc. in College Station.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of Bridgeport High School and will
graduate in May 2000 from Texas A&M University with a degree in
Finance. He is employed by Cable Rep Advertising as a financial
analyst.
Following their honeymoon to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico the couple
will reside in College Station.

August 4, 2001 at First United Methodist Church in Irvin

Walker of First United Methodist Church of Irving. Soloi
was Brock Faulkner, brother of the groom.
Parents of the bride are Carolyn and Tom Bowden ~

united in marriage on Saturday, June 12,.1999 at St. Paul's Lutheran
Church in Seymour, Indiana.
Parents of the bride are Jane Hughes and Skip Hughes of Sherrard,

Parents of the groom are Marilyn Jones of Bryan, Texas and Jim
Jett of College Station, Texas.
The bride is a 1995 graduate of Sherrard High School and a May
1999 graduate of Oral Roberts University with a Bachelor of Arts in
English Education. She is employed as a teacher for the Broken
Arrow Independent School District in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The groom
is a 1995 graduate of A&M Consolidated High School and will receive
a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from The
University of Tulsa in May 2000.
Following a honeymoon to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, the couple

daughter, Lorin Nicole Varisco to Cody William Catalena, son of Pete
end Linda Catalena, all of Bryan. An Apri11998 wedding is planned.
Miss Varisco is a medial assistant with BCS Heart in College
tation. She graduated from Bryan High School and Texas A&M
university with a degree in Nutritional Sciences.
Mr. Catalena is a shareholder in Paynet Communications. He
graduated from Bryan High School and Texas A&M University with a

Miss Lorin Nicole Varisco was married on Saturday, April 25, to
Mr. Cody Catalena, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. John
McCaffrey officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Varisco III of
Bryan. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Tony Varisco Jr. and Mr.
and Mrs. W.C. Lancaster, all of Bryan, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard H.
Poss of Goldthwaite, Texas.
Mr. Catalena is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Catalena of Bryan. His
grandparents are Mrs. Betty Catalena and the late Mr. William Pete
Catalena of Bryan and Mrs. Ada M. Woods and the late Mr. Russell
White Woods of Merritt Island, Fla.
Miss Varisco wore a princess gown of silk shantung. The beaded
gown has a beaded alecone lace bodice with a V neckline and chapel
train. Her veil was held in place by a floral headpiece. She carried a
bouquet of stargazer lilies, roses, and dendrobium orchids.
Miss Anne Alison Varisco served as her sister's maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Brook Catalena, sister of the groom, Miss
Heather Althaus, Miss Christy Fuchs, Miss Summer Helbert, Miss
Jeannine Johnson, and Miss Shelly Laaser, all friends of the bride.
Miss Megan Tate was the flower girl.
Mr. Catalena's best man was his brother, Mr. Brent Catalena. The
groomsmen were Mr. Tony Varisco IV, brother of the bride, Mr.
Travis Catalena, Mr. Chris Crawford, Mr. Jason Kempenski, Mr.
Daniel Krueger and Mr. Eric McCubbin. Mr. Scott Catalena and Mr.
Wyatt Wentrcek served as altar boys. The ushers were Mr. Brad
Blevins, Mr. Clay Catalena and Mr. Garrett Wentrcek. Mr. Tyler
Varisco was the ring bearer.
Mrs. Becky Larkin played the organ and accompanied soloist Mr.
C.V. Blake.
