E1~ILS ~4RE FLYING, CELL PHONES ~E RINGING; THE QUESTION IS
WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?
The standard attire at our first reunion in '75 was striped cotton shirts,
jeans, sandals and long hair....for the guys. Gals wore the same yet opted for
butterfly blouses. A few years later, I bought a $600 beaded black silk eve-
ning dress and designed the whole reunion around the ball room at the Hilton.
I was miserable. Around our 25th reunion, the beading adorned cotton tropi-
cal culottes with tennis shoes and long gaudy earrings....scary! Afew reunions
later and my trifocal vision has blurred the images of my more recent fashion
statements....thank goodness!
Now, an occasional nightmare brings back the foundation garments and
sensible saddle oxfords foisted upon me by the blue haired ladies at Lester's
Smart Shop and Edge's. This time, I am opting for cool, casual and comfort
able. I hope you will, too. And remember, souls never wrinkle.

A&M Consolidated High School Reunion 1460 - 1964
Bill Braddy is working on a Pow-
erPoint presentation of our veterans.
The emails, letters and photos we
are receiving are a very poignant
depiction of a time that affected all
of us in some way. Ws are also ask-
ing you ro let us know if you have
family members serving now. We
really do appreciate you coming
forward to share this part of your-
selves with us. Please continue to
send information to the guys below:
Allan Riggs (riaa~ s~juno.com),
Bill Braddy (bbradd knology.net)
Steve Henry(tamu1971@msn.com)
And please keep all of our service-
men and women in your prayers.
~E US YOUR BEST SHAT!
Rather than hiring a photogra-
pher, Iwould like for everyone to
bring their cameras to help document
our events. Afterwards, please send
your best shots to Project HOLD via
CD or email. In order to put them into
our files we need 300 dpi, at least,
and TIFs are preferred but not re-
quired. As soon as we put them on-
line, we'll send the word out. That
way, everyone gets to enjoy the
weekend many times over.
Trust me, next time I will auction
off the teachers as a fundraiser! I've
only had to send one or two students
to detention for fighting over their
favorite teacher. With the response
we have had to this added feature,
the teachers will not be left alone for
a minute.

The Project HOLD volunteers are
burning the midnight oil to keep up
with the volumes of material brought
in to Project HOLD. Check out some
of the recent additions to the website.
On the home page, select: Take me
to the Archives! Then go to
Education/Grade School/A&M
CHS/Yearbooks folder. If you want to
print out photos, type in the "page to
page" and click on the Adobe PDF
icon. Then print. It's best to increase
the size of the page first and then
PDF one page at a time. If you want
to print just one section of the PDF,
use the camera button to select the
portion of the page you want. The
section will flash and be copied onto
your clipboard. Open Photoshop
and select "new" and then "paste".
Or, just paste into a Word document
for printing. Email me if you have any
problems.
"Scenes of the Sixties", our exhi-
bition of photos and memorabilia, is
up and already causing quite a stir at
the College Station Conference Cen-
ter. Emily Johnson, Project HOLD in-
tern and soon to be enrolled at the
Bush School at TAMU, was a major
help in formatting the photos and
arranging the cases. Thanks to all of
you who have generously allowed us
to borrow your treasures for the ex-
hibit. Thank goodness there are still a
few pack rats among us.
Who would have thought that a
little heart shaped place card would
foretell the future of Linda Bloom and
Russ Harvell? Who ever thought that
hip hugger bell bottoms would come
back once, twice, even three times as
a fashion statement? Who is it that
tells the next generation what to write
in an autograph book? I had never
seen a megaphone cover until Sherry
Smith brought hers to the Project
HOLD office.
There are Kennedy, Nixon and
LBJ campaign buttons, opera length
white gloves, and a twirler's charm
bracelet. We have a driver's ed
handbook, a driving test, and a first
traffic ticket. The owner was caught
running a red light at Jersey and
Dexter after school by none other
than Officer Bird. (You know who
you are!)
We have a Clairol hot roller set,
a table side juke box, A8~M football
programs (one signed by Randy Mat-
son), and A&M v. t.u. tickets. There
are cheerleader sweaters, a Bengal
Belle uniform, and even a Kittens
cheerleader uniform. There are roller
skates, jacks, and a gum wrapper
chain. We have photos of the A&W,
Handy Burger, Ralph's and Tastee
Freeze. We have even more items but
we just ran out of room. The exhibit
will be at the Conference Center
through December.
We will have a display table at
the reunion events for more viewing.
There will be several scrapbooks and
many more pieces of memorabilia
that we hope will bring back the
good memories from days gone by.
