Call meeting to order and consider absence requests.
With a quorum present, the Historic Preservation Committee was called to order by Gerald Burgner on Monday, March 04, 2024, at 4 p.m. Comer Patterson had an unexcused absence. A moment
of silence was held for Mr. Ben White who recently passed away.
Hear visitors. None.
Agenda Items
3.1 Presentation, discussion, and the possible approval of minutes from
the previous meeting.
Upon a motion made by Sherry Frisk and a second by Tre Watson, the HPC
voted unanimously to approve the minutes as written.

Historical Marker Program/Project HOLD Report
Bobbie Lehrmann, Assistant Director of Public Communications and Grace Hallowell, Marketing Coordinator for Public Communications reported on a pictorial history book they are in the
process of creating. They are currently in Phase 2 and focusing on vital research and content collection. They are asking for assistance in gathering unique images or connecting them
with individuals in the community who may possess assets relevant to the chapters. The chapters they are seeking images for:

∙ City Events
∙ City History
∙ Early Neighborhoods – Southside
∙ People & Families
∙ Visitor – Celebrities
∙ Wellborn – Annexation of Wellborn
Exploring History Lunch Series
September and December are the only months in 2024 that need speakers. Tom Turbiville expressed interest in passing on his duties of finding speakers for the lunch series in 2025.

America’s 250
The date for the Never Forget Garden dedication is set for May 21, 2024.
Two trees have been planted, and they are just waiting on the monument to to be installed.

3.3 Report by the Liaison of Parks and Recreation on matters pertaining
to the Historic Preservation Board.
Michael Isermann reported that staff and volunteers assisted in planting 100
trees at Bee Creek and Tarrow Park last month in conjunction with a grant
that the City of College Station was awarded.
3.4 Identification of upcoming local or area historical programs
None

Lou Hodges passed around a coin from his collection.

Upon a motion made by Sherry Frisk and a second by Lisa Mouton, the HPC voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting @ 5:10 p.m.
