HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-11-23-8.17 - Resolution - 12/11/2023RESOLUTION NO. 12-11-23-8.17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE FIRE CHIEF TO EXECUTE THE APPLICATION AND ANY DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO RECEIVE GRANT FUNDING THROUGH THE HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM OF THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR FOR ACTIVE ATTACK INTEGRATED RESPONSE TRAINING. WHEREAS, the City of College Station finds it in the best interest of the citizens of the City of College Station and the Brazos Valley, that the Active Attack Integrated Response Training Project be initiated in 2024; and WHEREAS, The Brazos Valley Council of Governments Homeland Security Advisory Committee selected and approved this Homeland Security Grant Program request and application; and WHEREAS, the project is fully funded and the City of College Station is not responsible to the Office of the Governor for matching funds for the said project; and WHEREAS, the City of College Station agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, the City of College Station assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full; and WHEREAS, the City of College Station designates the Fire Chief as the grantee’s authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the City of College Station. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: PART 1: That the City Council has approves of the use of grant funds for the Active Attack Integrated Response Training Project from the Office of the Governor, Grant Number 4729401. PART 2: That the City Council hereby authorizes the Fire Chief as the authorized official to execute documents necessary for the submission of the Homeland Security Grant Program application with, for Homeland Security Grant funds to the Office of the Governor on behalf of the City of College Station and to act on its behalf with respect to any issues that may arise during processing of said application. PART 3: That the City of College Station agrees in the event of loss or misuse of funds, the City of College Station assures the funds will be returned in full. PART 4: That this resolution take effect immediately from and after its passage. ADOPTED this 11th Day of December, 2023.
