HomeMy WebLinkAbout231211 -- City Council -- Agenda Questions Council questions and staff responses for items on December 11th, 2023 City Council Meeting 8.2 2024 Annual Calendar Sponsors: Tanya Smith Question: Isn’t there usually a Strategic Planning Council retreat in January? Do we have dates for that yet? Response: The Council typically holds a strategic planning retreat in February. Staff is currently speaking with venues about available dates. This information will be shared with Council once firm dates have been identified. 8.5 Cherry Street Parking Removal Sponsors: Carl Ahrens Question: Did the city hold a public meeting – one posted on our calendar – or only the applicant held a meeting? For instance, the city held a meeting Oct 25th for parking removal on Eisenhower. Did we do that for Cherry? Are pages 127 & 128, 136 138, 143 intentionally left blank? Response: Only the applicant held a meeting, and it was not posted on the City calendar. For private development projects requiring parking removal, it has been the practice for the applicant to host the meeting and provide the notifications. The removal is only for a limited area in order to meet fire access requirements for the development. Looking at the packet, all the pages that you indicate are blank, are generating content for us, except for 143. Page 143 is a different item and looks to be blank due to the spacing on the previous page. PDFs of the pages you note are attached to this email. 8.9 Brazos County MUD No. 1 Bond Resolution Sponsors: Mary Ellen Leonard Question: Are there any plans to annex Southern Point in the future? Anything in the paperwork between the city and Southern Pointe or in the Resolution No. 01-09-14-01 that addresses annexation? Response: The Development Agreement for Southern Pointe addresses annexation. It allows the City to annex the property, however, it cannot do so until certain conditions have been met. These conditions include buildout of at least 90% of the facilities and infrastructure, and when the developer has been reimbursed for such costs. 9.3 Council appointed member for the Tourism Advisory Committee Sponsors: Bryan Woods Question: How many City Committees currently exist?
