Graduated from rvlilan HS and University of Missouri; BS degree, chemical engineering, 1941. Enlisted at Jefferson Barracks~ MO, May 1942: sent " '--" to Chanute Field, IL, to Engineering Cadet School, gradu- ated and commissioned a 2nd lieutenant, Oct. 24, 1942. Joined the 99th BG, 347th BS, in Walla Walla, W A, as an aircraft tnainlenance officer. Served overseas in North It\frica and Italy until end of war. Discharged in February , ] 946 and recalled to active duty Jan. ], ] 947. Served until Nov. 30, 1957, as advanced weather officer. .0 \Vas elnployed by Texas A&M University as a pro- fessor of meteorology until Aug. 31, 1985, when he retired as professor emeritus. Active in USAFR until Jan. 9, 1979.. then retired as a lieutenant colonel. /' Received EAME Medal w/13 Battle Stars, i\tnerican Defense Service Medal, .HDS Medal and the Anned Forces Reserve Medal. Survivors include his wife, Frances Henry of College Station; three sons and two daughters-in- law, Stephen Allen and Maxine Henry of Hanscom AFB, Mass., Dale and Mary Henry of Austin, and Carl Bruce Henry of Bryan; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clarence and Jane Belknap of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
