AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, SECTION 4 OF THE CODE OF ORDI-
NANCNS, OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, R~I-ATING TO SCHEDULE
OF RATNS FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION:
THAT CHAPTER 11, SECTION 4.A. OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
OF COLLEGE STATION IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 4: ELECTRICAL SERVICE
A. SCHEDULE OF RATES
The monthly rates to be charged consumers for public utility services, namely electrical
connections, shall be in accordance with the schedules as follows:
12. Electric Rider - HED (Higher Education Discount_)
State institutions of higher education, as defined by Section 2.2141 of the Public
Utility Regulator Act of 1995 (PURA) shall, upon written request by the state
institution, receive a twenty percent (20%) discount on the electric utility's
billing components which make up the City's base rates that would otherwise be
rendered under the applicable tariffed rate. On all eligible accounts, the discount
shall be applied to the next full month's billing rendered, after the written
request is received.
THAT CHAPTER 11, SECTION 4.F OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
F. Effective Date of Rates
The Electric Rider - HED shall be effective on all invoices submitted by the City of
College Station to users on or after October 1, 1995.

Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance be declared
unconstitutional or invalid for any purpose, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected
thereby.
IV.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of the
conflict only.

And, it is ordained that this ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage in
accordance with the City charter of the City of College Station.
