AN ORDINANCE LEVYING THE AD VALOREM TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT
OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF COm-I-EGE STATION, TEXAS,
AND PROVIDING FOR THE GENERAL DEBT SERVICE FUND FOR THE YEAR 1997-
98 AND APPORTIONING EACH LEVY FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby levied and there shall be collected for the use and support of
the municipal govemment of the City of College station, Texas, and to provide General Debt
Service Fund for the 1997-98 fiscal year upon all property, real, personal and mixed within the
corporate limits of said city subject to taxation, a tax of forty-two and ninety-three hundredths cents
($0.4293) on each one hundred dollar ($100.00) valuation of property, and said tax being so levied
and apportioned to the specific purpose herein set forth:
For the maintenance and support of the general govemment
(General Fund), fifteen and sixteen-one hundredths cents
($0.1516) on each one hundred dollar ($100.00) valuation of
property; and
For the General Debt Service Fund, twenty seven and seventy-
seven one hundredths cents ($0.2777) on each one hundred
dollars ($100.00) valuation of property to be used for principal
and interest payments on bonds and other obligations of the fund.
SECTION !!. All moneys collected under this ordinance for the specific items therein named,
shall be and the same are hereby appropriated and set apart for the specific purpose indicated in
each item and the Assessor and Collector of Taxes and the Executive Director of Finance shall keep
these accounts so as to readily and distinctly show the amount collected, the amounts expended and
the amount on hand at any time, belonging to such funds. It is hereby made the duty of the Tax
Assessor and Collector to deliver at the time of depositing any money, a statement should be made
showing from what source received.
SECTION !!I. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
