Home My WebLink About1997-2248 - Ordinance - 07/10/1997ORDINANCE NO. 2~4~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3, BUILDING REGULATIONS, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF TItE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION BY AMENDING APPENDIX 5, SECTION A, AMENDMENT NO. 5 TO THE 1994 STANDARD PLUMBING CODE AND BY ADDING TWO NEW AMENDMENTS TO APPENDIX 5, SECTION A, TO BE NUMBERED AMENDMENTS NO. 10 AND 11 TO THE 1994 STANDARD PLUMBING CODE; AND PROVIDING A SEVERABILrrY CLAUSE. NOW, T~ORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TttE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION: I. That Chapter 3, Appendix 5, Section A, Amendment No. 5, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College Station, is hereby repealed and amended to read as follows: Section 401.5.2 Connections, is amended by adding the following statement: 'Connections behind bathtubs. All connects behind tubs shall have access panels. Exception: Access panels may be omitted by special permission of the Building Official or his designee when the building construction makes the installation of aec, ess panels impractical or aesthetically undesirable.'" II. That Chapter 3, Appendix 5, Section A, of the Code of Ordinances ofthe City of College Station, is hereby amended by amending by adding two new amendments to be numbered and to read as follows: Section 409.4.5 - is amended to exclude multi-family dwellings from the laundry floor drain requirement in individual apartments. 11. Section 613.1 - is amended to exclude one and two family dwellings from the shower temperature control device requirement." IH That if any provisions of any section of this ordinance shall be held to be void or unconstitutional, such holding shall in no way effect the validity of the remaining provisions or sections of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect. IV. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect sixty days fi.om and after its passage and approval by the City Council and duly attested by the Mayor and City Secretary.
