HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-2340 - Ordinance - 08/13/1998ORDINANCE NO. 2340 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10, "TRAFFIC CODE", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF TIlE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, BY AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS AS SET OUT BELOW; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DECLARING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: PART 1: That Chapter 10, "Traffic Code," of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College Station, Texas, be amended as set out in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part of this ordinance for all purposes. PART 2: That if any provisions of any section of this ordinance shall be held to be void or unconstitutional, such holding shall in no way affect the validity of the remaining provisions or sections of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect. PART 3: That any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions ofthis chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not less than One Dollar ($ 1.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00). Each day such violation shall continue or be permitted to continue, shall be deemed a separate offense. Said Ordinance, being a penal ordinance, becomes effective ten (10) days after its publication in the newspaper, as provided by Section 35 of the Charter of the City of College Station. PARKING REGULATIONS FOR CERTAIN DESCRIBED AREAS O) No person shall stop, stand, or park a motor vehicle upon the following described streets or portions of streets in violation of the parking regulation for that street or portion of that street as set forth herein, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic control device. (2) Special event parking. When Special Event Parking is in effect for a particular street or portion of a street, the special event parking regulation shall take precedence over the following parking regulations. (3) The following are certain areas in which specific parking regulations are hereby designated: (a) NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER (i) The east side of Falrview Avenue fi.om its intersection with Old Jersey, extending south 25 feet. The east side of Fairview Avenue, extending north 25 feet and south 25 feet from its intersections with Angus Street, Kerry Street, and Guernsey. The west side of Fairview Avenue, from its intersection with George Bush Drive, extending south 60 feet. The west side of Fairview Avenue, extending north 25 feet and south 25 feet fi.om its intersections with Angus Street, Kerry Street, and Fidelity Street. (ii) The east side of Montclair Avenue from its intersection with Angus Street, extending south 25 feet. The east side of Montclair Avenue, extending north 25 feet and south 25 feet from its intersection with Kerry Street The west side of Montclair Avenue, 165 feet south from its intersection with George Bush Drive, extending south 25 feet. The west side of Montclair Avenue, from its intersection with Grove Street, extending north 25 feet. ORDINANCE NO. 2340 Page 3 (b) (c) NO PARKING ANYTIME (i) George Bush Drive, from its intersection with Texas Avenue, extending west to its intersection with Wellborn Road. (ii) The east side of Fairview Avenue, from its intersection with George Bush Drive, extending south 160 fee{. The west side of Fairview Avenue, from its intersection with Kerry Street, extending north 110 feet. (iii) The east side of Montclair Avenue, from its imersection with George Bush Drive, extending south 390 feet. TWO-HOUR PARKING 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. MONDAY-FRIDAY (i) The east side of Fairview Avenue, 60 feet south from its intersection with George Bush Drive, extending south 325 feet. The east side of Fairview Avenue, 25 feet south from its intersection with Old Jersey, extending south 185 feet. The east side of Fairview Avenue, 25 feet south from intersection with Angus Street, extending south 170 feet. The west side of Fairview Avenue, 25 feet south from its intersection with Angus Street, extending south 85 feet. (ii) The east side of Montclair Avenue, 25 feet south from its intersection with Angus Street, extending south 175 feet." The west side of Montclair Avenue, 190 feet south from its intersection with George Bush Drive, extending south 535 feet.
