D Athletic Park; , WHEREAS the loss of federal Land and Water Conservation li Funds leave local governments with no other major source d for financial assistance for acquiring and developing parks; F: WHEREAS parks and recreation amenities are essential to D the quality of life in Texas cities; this quality of t life is a determining factor in the decision of high a technology industry to locate in the State of Texas. 6 BE IT RESOLVED that the College Station Parks and Q Recreation Board finds it essential to continue parkland acquisition and development in order to enhance tourism q p and industrial development, and provide the much needed D social and economic benefits; ri AND NOW THEREFORE the College Station Parks and ° 3.Recreation Board calls upon the Texas House of e Representatives and the Texas Senate to preserve both the State and Local Dedicated Park Funds during its work fi g to balance the state budget.
