HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-2517 - Ordinance - 09/13/2001ORDINANCE NO. 2517 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10, "TRAFFIC CODE", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TF_~XAS, BY AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS AS SET OUT BELOW; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DECLARING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: PART 1: PART 2: PART 3: That Chapter 10, "Traffic Code", of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College Station, Texas, be amended as set out in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part of this ordinance for all purposes. That if any provisions of any section of this ordinance shall be held to be void or unconstitutional, such holding shall in no xvay effect the validity of the remaining provisions or sections of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect. That any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not less than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00). Each day such violation shall continue or be permitted to continue, shall be deemed a separate offense. Said Ordinance, being a penal ordinance, becomes effective ten (10) days after its date of passage by the City Council, as provided by Section 35 of the Charter of the City of College Station. PARKING REGULATIONS FOR CERTAIN DESGRIBED AREAS (1) No person shall stop, stand, or park a motor vehicle upon the following described streets or portions of streets in violation of the parking regulation for that street or portion of that street as set forth herein, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance xvith the directions of a police officer or traffic control device. (2) Special event parking. When Special Event Parking is in effect for a particular street or portion of a street, the special event parking regulation shall take precedence over the following parking regulations. (3) The folloxving are certain areas in which specific parking regulations are hereby designated: (a) NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER (i) The east side of Fairview Avenue from its intersection with Old Jersey, extending south 25 feet. The east side of Fairview Avenue, extending north 25 feet and south 25 feet from its intersections with Angus Street, Kerry Street, and Guernsey. The west side of Fairview Avenue, from its intersection with George Bush Drive, extending south 60 feet. The west side of Fairviexv Avenue, extending north 25 feet and south 25 feet from its intersections with Angus Street, Kerry Street, and Fidelity Street. The east side of Montclair Avenue from its intersection with Angus Street, extending south 25 feet. The east side of Montclair Avenue, extending north 25 feet and south 25 feet from its intersection with Kerry Street The west side of Montclair Avenue, 165 feet south from its intersection with George Bush Drive, extending south 25 feet. The xvest side of Fairview Avenue, from its intersection with Kerry Street, extending north 110 feet. (iii) The east side of Montclair Avenue, from its intersection with George Bush Drive, extending south 390 feet. (iv) Church Avenue from its intersection xvith Wellborn Road extending east to its intersection with University Drive. Culpepper Drive from its intersection xvith Cross Street extending north to its intersection xvith Inlow Boulevard. (vi) Culpepper Drive from its intersection with Cross Street extending south to its termination. Milam Avenue from its intersection with Cross Street extending north to its intersection with Inlow Boulevard (viii) The east side of Dogxvood Street from its intersection with Cross Street extending north to its intersection with Inloxv Boulevard. (ix) The south side of Cross Street from its intersection xvith Nagle Street extending east to its intersection xvith Dogwood Street. Cross Street from its intersection xvith Dogxvood Street east to its intersection with College Avenue / F. M. 308. The xvest side of Nagle Street from its intersection xvith Church Avenue extending south to its intersection with University Drive. The west side of Stasney Street from its intersection xvith Cross Street south to its intersection with University Drive. (xiii) The xvest side of Tauber Street from its intersection with Cherry Street extending south to its intersection xvith Church Avenue. (xiv) The east side of Boyett Street from its intersectton with University Drive extending north to its intersection with Church Avenue.
