AN ORDINANCE (BUDGET AMENDMENT t) AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 247`1
WHICH WILL AMEND THE BUDGET FOR THE 2000-200'1 FISCAL YEAR AND
AUTHORIZING AMENDED EXPENDITURES AS THEREIN PROVIDED; AND INCREASING
THE MAXIMUM LIMIT OF APPROVAL FOR EXPENDITURES BY THE CITY MANAGER.
WHEREAS, THE City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, approved its Budget
Ordinance for the 2000-01 Fiscal Year on September 14, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, desires to amend the
approved Budget Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, this amendment was prepared and presented to the City Council and a public
hearing held thereon as prescribed by law and the Charter of The City of College Station,
Texas, after notice of said hearing having been first duly given; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
Part 1:
That Part 1 of the Budget Ordinance for the 2000-01 Fiscal Year is amended to read
as follows:
"PART 1: That the proposed budget as amended by the City Council of the City of
College Station, which is made a part hereof to the same extent as if set forth at length
herein, is hereby adopted and approved, a copy of which is on file in the Office of the City
Secretary in College Station Texas. Amended appropriations for fiscal year 2000-2001
for the General Fund are $30,121,620, and for the Utility Funds are $63,678,970, and for
the Internal Service Funds are $3,924,783, and for the Utility Billing Fund are $2,179,358,
and for the Melrose TIF Fund is $254,400. Amended regular full and part time positions
is 716.25. All other appropriations as originally adopted by the City Council remain in full
force and effect."
Part 2:
That Part 3 of the Budget Ordinance for the 2000-01 Fiscal Year is amended to read
as follows:
"PART 3: That the City Manager and his authorized and designated employees,
at his discretion, be, and are hereby authorized to sign or release utility
easements; to negotiate and sign documents related to the settlement of disputed
assessments for paving, weed mowing, demolition, and other disputes based on
legal questions of whether the easements are enforceable or other extenuating
circumstances; to sign contracts and documents authorizing the payment of funds
and to expend public funds for expenditures that are $50,000 or less; to sign
change orders authorizing the expenditure of funds pursuant to Section 252.048
of the TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE or as provided in the original
contract document. The intent of this section is to provide the ability to conduct
daily affairs of the City which involve numerous decisions of a routine nature."
Part 3: That this ordinance shall become effective immediately after passage and approval.
