HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-27-01-11.08 - Resolution - 09/27/2001RESOLUTION NO. 9-27-01-11.07 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, PRESCRIBING AN ASSESSMENT FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAL IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Chapter 11, Section 5, of the City of College Station Code of Ordinances provides that monthly charges be assessed and collected from each person, firm or corporation within the city limits for the collection and disposal of garbage; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station has determined that monthly charges should be assessed and collected from each person, firm or corporation within the city limits for the collection and disposal of garbage; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION THAT: PART 1: Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 11, Section 5, of the City of College Station Code of Ordinances, monthly charges shall be assessed and collected from each person, firm or corporation within the city limits as set out in the attached Exhibit «A„ PART 2: That this Resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. These rates shall be effective on all invoices submitted by the City of College Station to users on or after October 1, 2001. PASSED AND APPROVED this 27th day of September , 2001. GENERAL RATE PROVISION Except as otherwise provided in this resolution, the charges for garbage collection and disposal shall be assessed according to the following schedule: $10.70 Each Residential I dwelling unit utilizing a small automated refuse container and provided with garbage, rubbish, brush and recycling collection once weekly. $7.75 Additional monthly fee for Residential I dwelling units having more than one automated refuse container. This rate shall be assessed for each additional container utilized. $10.70 Each Residential II dwelling unit utilizing an automated refuse container and provided with twice per week garbage collection, once per week curbside recycling collection and once per week rubbish/brush collection. $5.50 Each Residential III dwelling unit utilizing an automated refuse container for garbage collection only. Service will be provided twice weekly. . Fraternities, Sororities, and Privately Owned Student Dorms shall not be assessed as Residential III, and will be charged according to the variable commercial collection rates listed in Section II of this Resolution. $12.00 Minimum monthly charge for small businesses that jointly use a commercial -type refuse container without causing a health, sanitation or litter problem. II. ADDITIONAL CHARGES The following additional charges will be assessed and collected upon the performance of the described service or the occurrence of the described use or condition: $2.50 Daily rental fee for the use of any city -owned, 20 cubic yard roll -off container. $2.65 Daily rental fee for the use of any city -owned, 30 cubic yard roll -off container. $2.85 Daily rental fee for the use of any city -owned, 40 cubic yard roll -off container. $10.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 90-gallon container. $15.00 Additional fee for any location (other than residential) where the container was blocked and the collection vehicle must return to provide service. $20.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 300 gallon or 400 gallon container. $25.00 Additional fee for delivery and set-up on any city -owned, roll -off container. $20.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 2 cubic yard container. 0/group/legal/resolutions/rev sanitation rate.doc 09/14/2001 RESOLUTION NO. 9-27-01-11.7 Page 5 $25.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 2 cubic yard compactor. $30.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 4 cubic yard container. $35.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 4 cubic yard compactor. $40.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 8 cubic yard container. $45.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 6 cubic yard compactor. $50.00 Unprepared solid waste minimum charge. Actual cost of clean up can be charged pursuant to City of College Station Ordinance No. 1845, Approved March 22, 1990. $100.00 All roll -off container service per load plus current per ton landfill charge. $2.09 Per cycle fee for usage of the Northgate Promenade Commercial Compactor. The minimum monthly charge for small businesses that jointly use a commercial -type refuse container as described in Section I of this Resolution will apply until usage exceeds 5 cycles per calendar month. $4.00 Per carcass fee for 1 to 19 animal carcasses collected from a commercial veterinarian, plus a flat rate service charge of $20.00.Flat rate service charge is waived for 20 or more animal carcasses collected at one time. The solid waste superintendent, or his representatives, shall be notified of any new service locations or changes in service levels and will designate the container(s) to be utilized. The superintendent can require changes in service levels at any location when the current service is inadequate and is causing a health, sanitation, or litter problem. 0/group/legal/resolutions/rev sanitation rate.doc 09/14/2001
