Board Present: Sherry Ellison, Vice Chair; Douglass Kingman; Gary Erwin; Kirsten 'Kris' Walker;
Louis Hodges; Marc Chaloupka; Shawn Reynolds
Visitors: Frank Duchmascho; Ann Hays; Jim Bruffett
1. Call to order and Roll Call. The meeting was called to order with a quorum present at
7:00 PM. Louis Hodges came in after roll call at 7:35 P.M.
2. Possible action concernina reauests for absences of members. An absence
request was received from David Sahm and Debe Shafer. Kris Walker made a motion
to approve the two absence requests and Gary Erwin seconded the motion. The vote
was called. All were in favor, and the motion passed unanimously.
3. Hear visitors. Hearing none, this item was closed.
4. Consideration. possible approval. and discussion of minutes from the meetinc�of
February 11. 2014. Marc Chaloupka made a motion to approve the minutes as
submitted, and Kris Walker seconded the motion. The vote was called. All were in
favor, and the motion passed unanimously.
5. Presentation and discussion from the Senior Committee. Informational item only,
no action was taken.
6. Presentation and discussion reaardina an update on the Five -Year
Comprehensive Plan Evaluation and Appraisal Report from the Plannina and
Development Department. Presented by Jennifer Prochazka. It was decided that this
item has been moved to April's meeting once board members have had the chance to
review the Comprehensive Plan and PARD Master Plan.
7. Presentation and discussion on the FY 2014 Department Goals. Informational item
only, no action was taken.

Board Goal. Strateaies and Measureable Outcomes for 2014. Informational item
only, no action was taken.
10. Report, possible action. and discussion concernina the current Capital
Improvements Proaram: Informational item only, no action was taken.

Preservation Committee for three (3) minutes. Topics for deliberation shall be discussed under the
appropriate agenda item, placed on the agenda of a subsequent meeting, or assigned to staff for

may be issued.
3. Possible action and discussion on absence requests.
4. Possible action and discussion of previous minutes.
5. Discussion about the new role of HPC as a subcommittee of Parks Board by David Schmitz, Parks
and Recreation Director.
6. Discussion of future plans and programs for HPC (Historic Marker Program, Oral History, Historic
Website, Special Events, and Marketing)
7. Presentation, possible action, and discussion regarding the 2014 Exploring History Lunch Series,
including update regarding specific efforts to secure sponsors for 2014 Exploring History Lunch
Series.
8. Activity Report - by Jared Donnelly, Historic Records Coordinator.
9. Presentation, possible action, and discussion of historical items presented by committee members,
which may include historical books, pictures, artifacts, scrapbooks, or other memorabilia. No action

1. Call to Order and Announce a Ouorum is Present
With a quorum present, the Historic Preservation Committee was called to order by Chair Lou Hodges at
4:00 p.m. on Monday, March P, 2014 at the Municipal Court, 300 Krenek Tap Road, College Station,
Texas77842.
2. Hear Visitors
Multi -Media Coordinator Mike Neu and Senior Services Coordinator Marci Rodgers visited the
meeting.
3. Possible action and discussion on absence requests.
Pat Cleere was excused for illness.
4. Possible action and discussion of previous minutes.
MOTION: The Committee voted unanimously to approve the minutes.
5. Presentation and discussion of 75th anniversary expenses by Mike Neu, Multi -
Media Coordinator.

Mike Neu presented the final budget of the 75t' events and the committee discussed the use of
the remaining funds.
6. Committee discussion and possible action re2ardin2 the 2014 Exploring History Lunch
Series, including update retarding specific efforts to secure sponsors for 2014 Exploring,
History Lunch Series.
The committee discussed potential speakers and sponsors for the Exploring History Lunch
Series. A subcommittee consisting of Libby Vastano, Tina Evans, and Katherine Edwards was
created to secure sponsors.
7. Activity Report — Jared Donnellv, Historic Records Coordinator.
Jared Donnelly gave a report on activities. Of note, the Hershel Burgess ledger has been scanned and is
now part of Project HOLD.
8. Presentation and discussion of historical items Dresented by committee members.
which may include historical books. Pictures, artifacts, scrap_ books. or other
memorabilia. No action will be taken.
Lou Hodges and Jerry Cooper both brought historical items to show the committee.
9. Discussion and possible action on future agenda items.
No items were suggested.
10. Adiournment
MOTION: The Committee moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:20 p.m. on Monday, March 3`d,
2014. The motion carried unanimously.
