Ayrshire St. won in a close elec-
tion Saturday, over 3"oseph J.
McGraw of 211 Suffolk St. for
the vacancy on the College Sta-
tion City Council left by the
death of the late T. R. (Nikkie)
Holleman. .
According to the unofficial re-
turns, Ransdell carried 443 votes
to McGraw's 339.
"I am happy to see the turn-
out that is evident in today's
election. The vote in this, off-
election represents an interest of
the public in matters vital to
out' City," Mayor D. A. (Andy)
Anderson said.
'. "Now that the election is over,
, we need to close ranks and work
togetl.1er to make our city. what
we want it to be," Anderson con-
cluded.
