Finalization of action for land acquisition was taken at a joint meeting of the City Council and, Planning and Zoning Commis- sion on Wednesday, Anderson reported. In regard to the city hall and fire station, the architect will shortly present plans to the City Council, the mayor said, in re-1 porting on progress on this mat- ter. "I have hopes we can get construction underway in a few months," he reported. We have fulfilled our obliga- tion to the East By -Pass, al- though there are two tracts still in litigation, he went on to say. The contract for County Road from Glade Street to State High- way 6 has been awarded with construction well underway, he concluded.
