Friday of each year is recognized as Arbor Day in Texas, and WHEREAS, trees en- courage bird life, of in- I terest and value to many citizens, and WHEREAS, each citizen of College Station can contribute to the beauty of our city through the planting of trees and shrubs, and WHEREAS, Governor John Conally has en- couraged the statewide observance of Arbor Day. NOW, THEREFORE, I, D. A. Anderson, Mayor, City of College Station, do hereby proclaim Fri-' day, January 17, 1969, as Arbor Day in the City of College Station and urge all citizens to observe this day with appropriate plantings of trees and shrubs so that our city will be one of beauty and a better community in which to live. f i, Proclamation I College Station Mayor D.
