Mayor M. D. (Andy) Anderson said today that until the council makes an official statement Monday, "the matter is closed." The council decided "to just let it die" during a special 5 p.m. called meeting Monday after- noon. The open meeting to which news media was invited, was called to discuss a contract with the Wellborn Water Supply. However, the council informal- ly discussed the name change following approval of the con- tract. All councilmen concurred "for the . time being that it be dropped for further considera tion."
