..announced the appointment of
the Industrial Development
Committee.
"In regard to industrial
development, this team is the
real key to success in 1969,"
Briggs said.
"The first and foremost goal
of this team will be to develop
an industrial park and work is
being done on this project at
the present time," he said.
The purpose of the committee
is to create job opportunities
in the Bryan-College Station
area through industrial
promotion, or creation of em-
ployment.
This is generally connected
with manufacturing, but this is
not necessarily so," Pat N.
Mann, executive vice president
of the chamber, said.
He said the chamber is in-
terested in attracting com-
mercial, as well as manufar-
turing enterprises.
The committee, composed of
specialists in the various
aspects of industrial promotion,
furnishes industrial prospects
with facts about the community.
The committee members and
specialities are: Lynn Stuart,
chairman; Frank Thurmond,
vice chairman; Dennis
Goehring and James C. Smith,
sites; James D. Ingram and
Stan Stephen, finance.
Also, M. L. Cashion, tran-
sportation; David Butler and
Clark Munroe, labor; James R.
Bradley, resources and ser-
vices; Judge William R. Vance,
t a x e s; Fred J. Benson,
university relations.
Also Jack Pruitt and Ray
Downey, local industrial
relations; Fred C. Sandlin,
utilities; Alton 0. Bowen,
education and training.
Also, Logan D. Wilson and
Pat N. Mann, development; R.
1. Bernath, W. C. Davis, Book-
man Peters, C. Russel Hillier
and Ridley Briggs; public
relations.
