The clean-up day is part of the J a y e e s Operation Pride beautification project. R. L. Prewett project chairman, said the clean-up day will attempt ,to pick up trash and debris that is not not gausually rbage picked up by trucks." Approximately 40 Jaycees and 70 Bryan high school h students from E. A. Kemp High School and Stephen F. Austin High School will work from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. picking up trash on vacant lots in the con- centrated trash areas. Prewett said, ,Most of the general picking up will be done in the afternoon." Abandoned stoves and refrigerators will also be picked up Saturday. Approximately 35 A&M Consolidated High School students will work through the College Station Beautification Committee on the general clean- up Saturday. The C o 11 e g e Station Beautification Committee is appointed by Mayor D. A. (Andy) Anderson. B. G. Han- cock is the committee chair- man. Mrs. Richard Bauldauf, head of the Beautification Committee clean-up subcommittee, said the project in College Station will begin at 8:30 p.m. and continue until 5 p.m. Both the cities of Bryan and College Station will provide drivers and trucks to haul trash and litter. Prewett said Bryan will be operating at least one brush truck Saturday morning and five trash riggs Saturday af- ternoon. College Station City Manager Ran Boswell said the city will operate two trucks Saturday. Prewett said response to the project has been encouraging. He said approximately 52 calls have been taken this week at the chamber of commerce of- Chamber o 822-3721.
