Present: Louis Hodges -  Marilyn Randall -  Sherry Frisk -  Gerald Burgner -  William Wright -  Shirley Dupriest -  Thomas Smith -  Julie Schultz -  David Fujimoto - E Linda Harvell; City Council -  Steve Wright; Parks Director - E Kelly Kelbly; Assistant Director - E Cory Raney; Staff Assistant II -  1. Called to order and announced a Quorum at 4 p.m. by Gerald Burgner • David Fujimoto made a request for absence. Louis Hodges made a motion to accept the absence request. Sherry Frisk, second the motion. The vote was called, all were in favor, and the motion was passed unanimously. • Louis Hodges made a motion to approve the January minutes Shirley Dupriest, second the motion. The vote was called, all were in favor, and the motion was passed unanimously. 2. No Visitors 3. Agenda Items 3.1 Presentation, discussion, and possible action on the proposal for a Texas Historic Marker for Parkland Dedication in the City of College Station. • Cemetery Project: Sherry Frisk stated she would like to start the application for the Texas Historical Marker for the cemetery. She is wanting to obtain the marker for the anniversary in 2023. Sherry Frisk inquired about the budget and if there are funds available for the purchase of the marker. Linda Harvell stated there is a budget seminar coming up in a few months. Linda Harvell stated she would need to speak to the parks department. Julie Schultz advised that the HPC Committee to make a formal request to the Parks and Recreation Department and also the money could come out of the Hot Tax funds. • Historic Marker Program: Shirley Dupriest stated she has two houses that are interested in filling out a historical marker application. She reached out to them about the application however, she has not heard back from them yet. • Removal Process/Protocol for Historic Markers: Gerald Burgner stated he has not yet heard back from Leslie and he will follow up with her. • Artifacts; Where Are They?: Gerald Burgner spoke with Chief Mann and he stated to just let him know when they want to come over and look. Gerald Burgner stated he will send out a poll to the committee to decide which day and time is best to meet at Station 6 to go through the artifacts. • Special Research Committee: The committee discussed scanning options and concluded that city equipment would have to have pre-approval in order to be used. Linda Harvell stated the committee needs to first go through Station 6 to see what type of artifacts are out there. • HPC Social Media Posting: Gerald Burgner sent out suggestions from Jay Socol about the committee and social media postings. March is also National Women’s History Month. Texas Historical Commission is February 3rd through February 5th. 3.4 Julie Schultz spoke about the book for Consols 100th and sent the link to Gerald Burgner, who will forward it out to the committee. Louis Hodges presented two Photographic History books about the Great War of WWI. 4. No additions needed to be made to future agenda items and discussions. 5. Motion made to adjourn by Louis Hodges, second by Thomas Smith, and carried by unanimous vote at 5:30 PM.
