Kelly Kelbly; Interim Director- Reena Gonzalez; Business Services Manager - 1. Called to order and announced a Quorum at 4 p.m. Gerald Burgner
2. There was not a request for absence. 3. Gerald Burgner, made a motion to approve the July minutes. Sherry Frisk, second the
motion. The vote was called, all were in favor, and the motion was passed unanimously.
4. No Visitor were present.
5. Presentation, discussion, and possible action on the proposal for a Texas Historic Marker for Parkland Dedication in the City of College Station
• CS Historical Project: Nothing to Report
• Cemetery Project: Sherry Frisk presented the certification that was sent for the College Station Cemetery.
• Historic Marker Program: Marker 104 will be presented to 205 Timber on Thursday 8/11/2020 at 3pm. No additional applications at the moment.
• CS Oral History Interviews & Educational Initiatives: Nothing to Report
• Exploring History Lunch Series: Nothing to Report
• Project Hold Report: Nothing to Report
• HPC Website: Gerald Burgner wanted to know if the application has been added to the
website. Kelly Kelbly will check with Lacey Lively about uploading that application. William Wright provided a sample blog post what about Project Hold and what they do. The goal would be to create a blog for the website highlighting historic discussions for the website monthly.
• Historical Home Awareness: Nothing to Report
• Historic Business Award: Nothing to Report
• Historic Award: Nothing to Report
• Documentary for COCS: William Wright emailed the principal at College Station High School to speak with the media department and reach out to them to maybe take on this project. Waiting to hear a response.
6. There were no new presentations or discussions for future agenda items.
7. Presentation of Historic Artifacts.
• Louis Hodges presented a mask.
• Gerald Burgner presented a tobacco canister.
• David Fujimoto presented a photo of his great uncle a naval secretary with FDR from 1943. 8. Report by Parks Director – Kelly Kelbly confirmed that PR will have a photographer present
for the presentation of the historic marker 104 at 205 Timber. Lacey Lively is waiting on confirmation for the application to be posted online. Meetings in the chambers is a little far away to have a presentation for the College Station Cemetery but is a place holder. Lunch lecture is not on the calendar till potentially Spring 2021.
9. There were no new presentations or discussions for future agenda items. 10. Motion made to adjourn by Tommy Smith, second by, Sherry Frisk and carried by unanimous vote at 4:45 PM
