Speaker Protocol: An individual who wishes to address the City Council regarding any item on the
Regular Agenda shall register with the City Secretary prior to 2 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
Individuals must register to speak or provide written comments at
https://forms.cstx.gov/Forms/CSCouncil or provide a name and phone number by calling
9797643500. Upon being called to speak an individual must state their name and city of residence,
including the state of residence if the city is located out of state. Speakers are encouraged to identify
their College Station neighborhood or geographic location. Each speaker’s remarks are limited to
three (3) minutes. Any speaker addressing the Council through the use of a translator may speak for
six (6) minutes. At the (3) minute mark the City Secretary will announce that the speaker must
conclude their remarks.

College Station, Texas, canvassing returns and declaring results of the runoff election, held on
December 15, 2020 for the purpose of electing a City Councilmember Place 5. (Presentación,

ORDINANCE NO. ___________________
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS,
CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF THE RUNOFF ELECTION
HELD ON DECEMBER 15, 2020, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A CITY COUNCIL
MEMBER PLACE 5.
RECITALS:
1.On November 12, 2020 the City Council ordered that a Runoff Election be held on
December 15, 2020 for the purpose of electing a City Councilmember Place 5.
2.Notice of this election was duly published in The Eagle on November 18 & 25, 2020 and
in La Voz Hispana on November 20 & 27, 2020.
3.A copy of the notice was posted on the bulletin board at City Hall on November 13, 2020.
4.This election was duly and legally held on December 15, 2020, in conformity with the
election laws of the State of Texas, and the results of the election have been certified and
returned by the proper judges and clerks.
5.The City Council of the City of College Station, Texas with the following members present:
Mayor Karl Mooney, Councilmembers Bob Brick, John Crompton, Linda Harvell,
Elizabeth Cunha, John Nichols, and Dennis Maloney have today considered the returns of
the Runoff Election held on December 15, 2020.
6.It appears to the Council, and the Council finds, that the election was in all respects lawfully
held.
7.It appears to the Council, and Council finds, that the tabulation of the results of the election
is correct.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The Runoff Election of December 15, 2020 was duly called, notice of the election
was given in accordance with law, and the election was held in accordance with law.
SECTION 2. The tabulation of votes cast in the Runoff Election held on December 15, 2020, was
for the purposes stated in Recital 1 above, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part of
this Ordinance and is adopted as the official tabulation of the votes cast at the election. The
tabulation will be filed and recorded in the official records of the City of College Station as the
official canvass of the election.
SECTION 3. The official canvass of the returns of the election reflects the following:

SECTION 4. That John Nichols received a majority of the votes and is elected to serve as City
Councilmember, Place 5.

ORDENANZA DEL CONSEJO MUNICIPAL DE LA CIUDAD DE COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS, DEVOLUCIONES ESCRUTINIO Y DECLARANDO LOS RESULTADOS DE LA
ELECCION DE SEGUNDA VUELTA, CELEBRADA EL 15 DE DICIEMBRE DEL 2020, PARA
EL PROPÓSITO DE ELEGIR A EL MIEMBRO DEL CONSEJO MUNICIPAL LUGAR 5.
CONSIDERANDOS:
1.El 12 de noviembre del 2020, el Consejo Municipal ordenó que el 15 de diciembre de 2020
se llevarán a cabo una elección de segunda vuelta con el propósito de elegir al Miembro
del Consejo Municipal para el Lugar 6.
2.Un aviso oficial de esta elección se publicó debidamente en los periódicos The Eagle
el 18 y 25 de noviembre del 2020 y en La Voz Hispana el 20 y 27 de noviembre del 2020.
3.Una copia del aviso se publicó en el tablón de anuncios del Municipalidad de la Ciudad
-City Hall- el 13 noviembre del 2020.
4.Esta elección se realizó legal y debidamente el 15 de diciembre de 2020, de conformidad
con las leyes electorales del Estado de Texas y los resultados de la elección han sido
certificados y devueltos por los jueces y secretarios correspondientes.
5.El Consejo Municipal de la Ciudad de College Station, Texas, con los siguientes miembros
presentes: el Alcalde Karl Mooney y los Concejales Bob Brick, John Crompton, Linda
Harvell, Elizabeth Cunha, John Nichols y Dennis Maloney, han tomado en consideración
los resultados de la Elección de Segunda Vuelta celebrada el 15 de diciembre de 2020.
6.El Consejo Municipal ha encontrado y considera que la elección fue llevada a cabo
legalmente en todos los aspectos.
7.El Consejo ha encontrado y considera que la tabulación de los resultados de esta elección
es correcta.
EL CONSEJO MUNICIPAL DE LA CIUDAD DE COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS HA
ORDENADO QUE:
SECCIÓN 1. La elección de segunda vuelta del 15 de diciembre del 2020 fue debidamente
convocada, la notificación de la elección fue dada de conformidad con la ley, y la elección se llevó
a cabo de conformidad con la ley.

SECCIÓN 2. La tabulación de los votos emitidos en la elección de segunda vuelta celebrada el 15
de diciembre del 2020, fue para los fines indicados en el Considerando 1, ha sido adjuntada y forma
parte de esta ordenanza. Ha sido adoptada como la tabulación oficial de los votos emitidos en esta
elección. La tabulación será archivada y registrada en los registros oficiales de la Ciudad de College
Station como el escrutinio oficial de las esta elección.
SECCIÓN 3. El escrutinio oficial de los resultados de la elección refleja lo siguiente:
